Stayed here twice with my partner, each time in a different private room. This hostel is small, charming, is in a central location and has loads of character. The staff we met, including the manager Jimmy, were all friendly, social and attentive to our needs. The kitchen is large and clean; the free waffle breakfast is awesome. Highly recommend!

The hostel in itself is really awesome, the private room we stayed in was good enough with not too much light but unfortunately we had a really bad experience with one of the staff members.

A couple of hours after my review went live, the owner came to speak to me personally and asked what was up, which I really appreciated, and I explained him everything about that specific person.
I'm glad that he will work on it and I'll make sure to recommend this hostel to anybody coming to Tucson if he proceeds with what he said.

Awesome staff, great place to stay while working at the university for a couple of weeks. Stayed in a private room, clean room, clean bathrooms - rooms and buildings with keycodes. Good community of people with great stories if you're open to conversation. Great breakfast in the morning with some space in the fridge for your extras. Just awesome.

Based on the website we thought this would be a great place to stay. We arrived, paid, were shown our room, and asked for a refund within 20 minutes. Once refused a refund (after not being able to get ahold of the manager drunk at a local bar at 3:00 in the afternoon) we were moved to a equally as stiflingly hot room without working air that didn't smell like ashtray. The rooms are more boxes than actual rooms and do not have the cute bedside table or the cozy feel that is bragged about on the website. There were also shady individuals who appeared to live at the hostel, one of which put his hand on my lower back while walking by shirtless. The rooms are located across the street and down a shady alleyway, the private rooms at least. We finally got a refund at 9:00pm and had to rush to find another hotel last minute. There was no apology and plenty of attitude as we attempted to leave without friction. I believe this place pays for their reviews, visitors beware!

I lived across the street from this hostel for 3 years. My landlord owned, and still owns the rental properties next to the hostel. This place is good for a group of travelers on a budget. Don't go alone expecting privacy or great accommodations.

The manager often travels which creates problems for tenants and guests. Prepare to be disappointed.
