Willow Grove is a great place for my elderly mother. She loves it! It’s clean. The staff does their job. And I have peace knowing mom is taken care of. If you’re looking for a great place for mom, consider Willow Grove.

When my mother lived there, she was treated with dignity and respect by most of the people who worked there. Benna Underwood was especially loving and caring of not only my mother, but also of the rest of the residents whenever she came in contact with them. She also treated my brother, sister, and I with respect in regards to my mother's care.

We are so glad to have found Willow Grove. It's been a great place for both of our parents. Mom moved first and then Dad joined her a few months later. It feels like home and family. Everyone, from the Directors, the nursing staff and caregivers, maintenance and dining hall staff -- they make us all feel welcome. We are confident this is the best place for them to be.

I only have great things to say about Willow Grove.
From the time they met my Mom, it was very clear that they truly cared about her. The people that work there and work with her are very kind, helpful, patient and respectful. They go put of their way to help and are always so kind and professional. They provide very helpful services in addition to the great care they provide. They are easy to reach and communicate very well regarding any needs or concerns. They do a great job trying to make this like home for their residents. They have beautiful living areas for visiting, provide activities, opportunities to socialize and the meals are very good and served like being in a nice restaurant. Assisting someone that has started to lose their independence and no longer be in their own home with all of their own things, dependent on others to help, isn’t an easy task. The staff at Willow Grove recognize that those changes are difficult and work to make it a nice transition.

Moving a loved one into an assisted living facility is a scary and confusing decision. You want the absolute best for them, while knowing you might not be able to be their sole care provider. We toured Willow Grove and immediately felt peace. 90 year old Papaw has now been at Willow Grove for seven months and is thriving thanks to their excellent care.

The chef is a bully to both staff and residents. He tells residents that "no one on staff wants to serve them", argues with them, refuses to give them a certain meal if they have consistent complaints rather than try to improve it. Doesn't know half his resident's name's, avoids community meetings and removed the suggestion box to not have to receive any constructive criticism from them. Doesn't offer half of what's on his posted 'alternative menu'. If they ask for an alternate, as simple as a sandwich, if they don't remeber to request it hours in advance, he will send the server out to tell them it will be upwards of 20 minutes to try and dissuade them from their choice. He is lacking in effective communication skills and professional conduct. If you bring this to his supervisor they will speak to you instead of allowing HR to handle it, then not even let you finish speaking on the subject matter before deciding it isn't worth letting you finish speaking or returning your calls, and then refuse to give you corporate's number when you request it, telling you to seek it out online instead. It is not publicly available, leaving this to be your last avenue. (The 1 star rating is not a reflection on the cna's/nursing staff care of residents or hr department)
