Had the opportunity to try the new Thompson in Palm Springs during the first part of December. I am a local to the area and wanted have a place to watch the annual Christmas Parade put on the Palm Springs. I reserved our spot in September 2024 with the expectation that I would get a great view of the festivities. ||The week before our stay I stopped in to make sure I would get a street view and of course the front desk could not "guarantee" a proper room but provided me assurances that I would be first priority. I asked to a resort Manager and they introduced me to Pavel E. He showed me around and provided additional assurance that he would do his best to accommodate our request. The morning of our stay he offered us one of the resort suites to consider. We took him up on his offer and he mentioned we could arrive at any time after mid-morning as the room had been empty the night before. We are a World of Hyatt Member so this was a great and appreciated offer. Once we arrived he provided amazing personal service showed us around the property and made sure we checked into our room flawlessly. ||We had the chance to use the pool and try the food and were quite surprised at how reasonably priced and high quality the food ending up being. Our stay was filled with amazing service and great quality food and we could not say enough about Pavel and his teams efforts to make us feel like we were preferred guests. The location and amenities are fantastic and with Pavel E. there you cannot go wrong. ||I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to visit the Palm Springs area and be centrally located.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Palm Springs!!

Ignore the negative reviews. This hotel is amazing. The pool area is huge and tons of places to sit or lounge. Also the indoor bar is phenomenal and also has places you can relax or get some work done. The rooms are great. I’ve stayed at several other hotels downtown and this is by far the best. I’d love to hear where the people have stayed here that are better?

The views of the mountains are breathtaking from the pool and room. Hyatt always takes care of us and we got a corner room with the best view. Thank you Hyatt for elevating the high end hotel options in Palm Springs.

Brand new hotel. Great location. Walk to restaurants and shops. We were greeted by helpful and friendly valet when we arrived. Check-in process was smooth. The gentleman who helped us with our bags walked with us to the room, along the way provided a very good introduction of the hotel facilities, the room mentalities and surrounding area. Room is nicely decorated with very comfortable bed. When we need extra supplies, they were quickly delivered to the room ! Hot water was a little slow but did not bother us. Hotel has a beautiful pool area. Beautiful ground with nice landscape and fire pits. Delicious breakfast. Overall great experience. Highly recommend.

My husband and I just stayed at the new Thompson in Palm Springs and have never had such a poor Hyatt experience. I’ll start with a few good things to say, which is why I’m even giving this hotel two stars. The hotel is in a great location, has a nice modern aesthetic, valet is included in your hotel room rate, the restaurant food is delicious, and the valet / car service (especially Amy and Robert) and restaurant staff (Jesse was an excellent server) offered superb service. Now on to the bad. The front desk staff seem inexperienced and unapologetic for any issues, we were told our room would be ready before 4 pm but waited well beyond 4 pm to get our room, and our luggage was delivered to the wrong room with no updates of their whereabouts. While our room was an “upgraded” king, it overlooked the Main Street and the noise was unbearable, which we were not warned about during check in. We could hear every car and person outside so the windows are definitely not sound proof. We barely slept the first night and called the front desk to get switched over to another room on day 2. After no response, we went to the front desk and they agreed to move us to a quieter room but unfortunately once we moved it was apparent the room was a total downgrade. Further, there was no hot water in the showers and there was a weird sewage type smell in both rooms. We reported all of this to the manager, and while she did offer a discount on one night of our two night stay, the headaches we experienced were not compensated for. We were also guaranteed a late check out, but that too was overlooked, forcing us to rush out. Needless to say we will not be returning and are really disappointed in the stressful experience, especially for the price we paid.

They charge Four Seasons prices but provide motel 6 customer service. Stayed here for 3 nights and it was extremely clear that despite being open for 5 months that the staff is severely undertrained. I was forced to use the bellman at check in, saying it was mandatory. The room was dirty, with mold in the shower and cobwebs on the vents, there was also a 3 inch gap at the bottom of my room door (which leads to the outside) since there was no weather stripping. The valet was understaffed and one of the days they locked my keys in my running car… luckily I have an app on my phone where I was unable to unlock it. Then the valet staff dropped and damaged the car keys on my brand new car. They admitted it and said someone was going to contact me for compensation. They never did, as it’s been 8 days. I followed up with the front desk manager, who wrote off many of my concerns but stated that they could do a better job cleaning my room. I’m still waiting for them to compensate me for my damaged car key and respond to my other concerns. Basically, avoid this place. The location isn’t worth the terrible hotel design and poor service.

Great design, planning and curated art collection, as I would expect from a hotel developed by Craig and Kathryn Hall. We like the upmarket feel of the hotel as well as the location in the downtown/arts neighborhood. Great restaurants and eclectic shops within walking distance of hotel. Rooms are "comfortably contemporary" and bathrooms are great - plentiful quality towels, good lighting, counter space. Loved the Sferra linen bedding! Public areas are well planned, bar and restaurants were fashionable and BUSY! We look forward to our next visit!

Some of the room features/amenities could be adjusted/different but maybe it's just my personal preference. Food we had throughout our 4 night stay was great with the exception of an order of fries we had; they came out cold, we sent them back, and then they came back slightly warm.

Service was great all around. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, hardworking, kudos to the staff!

Location seems pretty ideal from my viewpoint...very walkable to restaurants and shops.

I felt the need to write a review because so far, the service and hotel have been incredible during our stay.

I saw reviews weren't that great, likely because the hotel had just opened and some kinks were getting worked out.

The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. The service at breakfast was great too. The breakfast restaurant offers indoor or outdoor dining and is really beautiful. The pool area is gorgeous and large as well.

The woman who checked is in last night was so kind. Valet and bell hop are also extremely nice too. They have been so accommodating to our infant during our stay so far.

Lastly, the location is great. Walkable to everything in downtown Palm Springs.
