I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It feels expensive for what you get. However, it is located in Palm Springs where everything is expensive, so I suppose this makes it a fairly reasonable option for those trying to be budget conscious. It is obviously an old motel that has been renovated, and it shows in certain areas. The pool area, front desk (in an adorable airstream trailer), and onsite restaurant look new, are beautiful, and have a super fun design. The rooms appear to have new flooring, new furniture, and all-new bathrooms, but for some reason the doors were neglected. Our door appeared to have new paint, but the paint was already really chipped and the doors and locks felt flimsy, like they could easily be kicked open. The bathroom mirror was also placed incredibly high, so I had to stand on my tiptoes to apply my makeup. In addition, the walls were very thin – we could hear the guests next door talking. My last issue is that you need a key to enter the hotel grounds but one night when we went out to dinner we found someone had propped the gate open with a cinderblock. Another night, we had someone asking if they could follow us in because they were trying to get to the restaurant. On the plus side, our room was large, the shower had great water pressure, we had an amazing view of the mountains from our room on the second floor, the hotel is well-located just minutes from the downtown area by car, and I appreciated the fridge and safe. We never used the pool but it looked like a fun area that a lot of people enjoyed gathering it (just be warned there is a resort fee whether you use the pool or not).

Had a wonderful weekend here! Everything from the room to the restaurant was excellent. The food, drinks, and service were above par. The pool is open 24 hours, and it was very well maintained. The rooms were also very clean and accommodating. There’s also so many things to do within walking distance of the hotel. We easily walked to the downtown area from the hotel and it was about a 20 minute walk. We drove to the gondola, which was about at 10-15 minute drive. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This was such a fun place to stay during Palm Springs Pride. The management is so welcoming and accommodating. This was a last-minute booking, so I wasn't really expecting much - but the room was clean, serviceable, and had a great view of the San Jacinto mountains. The shower is a teensy bit small and dated, but what are you expecting? It's a renovated motel in Palm Springs, the mid-century vibe is what you go there for. The pool is open 24 hours, it's heated, and clean. The airstream trailer check-in is adorable, the free bikes you can rent are fun. Go here if you're looking for a low maintenance, fun, welcoming place to stay with your LGBTQ+ friends in PS.

I had the great pleasure of staying at The Skylark for six nights in October. I extended my stay for a few extra days while working remotely, and the staff graciously moved me to a room with an even better view for those days. The rooms are great and the pool is perfect for floating in and lazing around. Everyone from the "front-desk" staff to the housekeeping crew couldn't have been better, and the food at the on-site restaurant was brilliant. Definitely recommended!

The Skylark is by far my favourite hotel I've ever stayed in! The rooms, restaurant, staff, everything was top notch! My friends and I went for our friend's 40th birthday and we were made to feel so welcome and special the whole time we were there. We wish we could've stayed longer! Scott, Rhino, they're the best!

We will be back soon! Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable!

What a delightful little hotel. 5 friends stayed in 3 rooms for Desert Air Festival. We booked separately but I contacted Walter and he was nice enough to put our rooms next to each other. The rooms were very clean and in great condition. The pool and hot tub are open 24/7, but the heated pool was a little too cold for me, even during the day.||The new restaurant, Lost Property, was so good we ate there every morning. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant are so chill and friendly.||The radio had Bluetooth, so it was nice to play my own music. I do wish the TV had some kind of streaming option, like the ability to cast from a phone or computer to the TV. They only had live TV so we didn't watch much.||Overall the stay was wonderful, and I'll stay here again next time I visit.
