The Palms at Sun City Assisted & Senior Living

The Independent Plus Care Team led by Gena Yates is top notch for caring and communication with family. I live 1700+ miles from The Palms and it is such a blessing to know Dad is being cared for and able to remain in independent living at this point. The team is kind in seeking to understand Dad’s needs and behaviors at different times of the day. They are forward thinking in what would best help him maintain some level of control and sensitive to the needs of all those living in the community. Gena is gracious in having the “harder” conversations with Dad concerning his needs while balancing the needs of others in the community. I am so happy Dad chose to live at The Palms in this season of his life and have complete trust Gena and her team are providing the Independent Plus services Dad needs. When my husband brought up the idea of moving to an independent living facility, I was really dragging my feet. But moving to The Palms was the best move we could have made! One of our favorite things are the activities. There is always something going on either in the community or special outings into town. There's no reason to stay in your room! You meet many new friends here. So many things are included, my husband never has to do yard work. Having the dining room makes it so I don't have to cook. The last time I tried cooking in my apartment, I made a huge mess with the pies. With the kitchen making such delicious food, I never have to worry about it anymore! Chef Casey and Karen have the best dining room staff.

Our 84-year-old father moved into the Palms in March of 2024. He had been in a cognitive decline for some time, but was still able to maintain a fair degree of independence. Dad chose independent living at the Palms, which initially worked out well for him. However, his decline has slightly advanced, and Independent Plus Manager Gena Yates met with Dad and diplomatically described the benefits he'd have if he took advantage of what IP has to offer. I will say that Gena and staff have their hands full with Dad, but they are professionally persevering with him and managing his care well on a day-to-day basis. We are grateful to see Dad in such good hands and appreciate the open communication with Gena. She is an experienced and consummate professional, and we are thankful for Gena and her team. I have been extremely happy with moving my parents to The Palms at Sun City. The hallways and apartments are newly renovated, clean and bright. My parent's apartment is so spacious they fit almost all of their furniture from their 2 bedroom home. All the staff are so friendly, nice and accommodating. But most important has been Gena from the Independent Plus program. She has gone above and beyond to make my parents daily life comfortable, safe and enjoyable. I can definitely tell that she truly cares about each resident and their needs. Thank you Gena for everything you do! I am so glad that we found The Palms at Sun City!

Everything here has been great. David and Becca were really helpful when I wanted to get an apartment, they worked with me. I like that I can pick the variety of food. Front desk is friendly. Lots of stuff to do. Price is right

The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the remodeling is still in the planning phase. We have lived here for almost 2 years now, and we are very happy. The apartments are the biggest you will find anywhere and are very quiet. Beautiful grounds with lots of trees. We lived through the prior management debacle and greeted Stellar with great relief in December. They have improved almost every facet of life here. Breakfasts are now wonderful! Food in general is improving. My husband now drags me out of bed each morning so he can get down to the dining room for his eggs! The flooring samples are looking great, and the painting should be starting soon as we begin to open up this month. (Almost all of us have now received both Covid vaccinations thanks to Stellar's efforts.) Activities are beginning to resume, and people are moving in. By summer, I expect to see us approaching capacity. So, if you moved out in the last year due to the management here, come take another look! We miss you!

As a professional mover, I have had the opportunity to work with countless senior living facilities, and I must say that this particular facility is truly top-notch. From the moment we arrived at The Palm's to assist with the move-in process, we were met with a warm and welcoming staff who were dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for the residents. The facility itself was immaculately maintained, with spacious hallways and easily accessible elevators, making it a breeze to maneuver furniture and personal belongings. The staff was incredibly accommodating, providing us with all the support we needed to efficiently complete the move, and ensuring that the residents felt at ease throughout the process. The Palms is a great place to live. Everyone on the staff is positive and they all work very hard. Our weekend bit of sunshine is Q at the front desk. She always has a smile as she handles the job efficiently.
