Got snowed in while traveling through the area. Found the Last Resort in Adin thankfully before trying to trudge through more of the storm. One room left and I was hooked. David was splendid! True hospitality and a nice room to rest for the night before heading out again. Great views of landscapes from the rooms and the new updates look great! Would definitely stay again when I'm traveling through. A real gem in the middle of NorCal!

My wife and I were on a road trip and Adin was the perfect location to stay to break up our drive between the Sierras and Portland. We called David, the owner of The Last Resort and he reserved a room for us. Nice large room and a comfortable bed. Adin is a pretty town with some old sawmill equipment near the highway. Highly recommended place to stay.

Stopped here as it was the only motel in this part of Northern California. It was very basic but fairly clean. No ATT phone service in the area and the wifi at the motel was barely one to two bars, but again, that's all there is. Cable TV was also barely working on a very old TV and I was not able to watch a football game because the snow was so bad on the screen. Shower barely worked and the water pressure was pretty low. If you really need a place, it will do. I'd give it a 2 stars, but the owner made it a bit more. The owner was a very friendly man that was born and raised here and was very helpful in giving information about the history of the area. His wife, as was noted on another review, was really kind of matter of fact and should possibly think about being friendlier if she every wants people coming back! There is only one place to eat, a hamburger place called the Oney Frosty. Not bad food, but just old style fast food. The general store, the only store around, is a great place to stop as it still has the charm of the old days with wooden floors and the charm of the early 1900s displays. Hopefully if you stop here you'll enjoy the history of this small town, which was once a thriving Ag town that almost became the county seat.

As a female traveling alone, I'm always weary of motels in the middle of nowhere, but I'm happy to say I had a fantastic stay at The Last Resort in Adin! Upon my arrival I was greeted by Dave, one of the owners, and he was so nice. He made me feel very welcome and we had a great conversation about the motel, the area, etc. I stayed in room #3 and though aesthetically it's dated, it was incredibly clean, everything worked, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable! I will absolutely be staying at this motel on my next drive through - in fact, I'll probably plan my next road trip around stopping here for the night!
If you're considering staying here (which you should!), I recommend you call ahead and confirm availability because this is the only motel for hours in any direction!

The owners are great. Room very large and all the amenities there. Stopped in as a weary traveler in a big hurry, and think it would have been nice to have a coffee and chat with them. Service and care above and beyond the ordinary and that's why I put 5 stars for everything. The world is a better place because of the Hunts.

I was camping with my partner near Susanville (Eagle Lake, Aspen Grove Campground) while the Dixie Fire was raging 30 minutes away. I called late - due to the circumstance, they accommodated us. It was a lovely little roadside motel. Truly was a last resort. Had a great sleep after a long night of driving. The owner was very friendly and had no issues with the room.

I stumbled across "The Last Resort" late one night on one of California's back roads and was lucky enough to snag a room. Nice people - a nice room - and an unexpected surprise in a rather distant spot. Perfect for a road trip. There's not many alternatives in that part of the country, but if you are fortunate enough to get a room, chat with the proprietor, and breath the fresh air of Adin, you will be very lucky indeed.

"The Last Resort in Adin" ...not the most promising sounding name perhaps, but other options are few and far between on the stretch of highway between Susanville, CA and Klamath Falls, OR. The Last Resort turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. I didn't expect much, at just over $60 with tax, but the room was clean, spacious and had all the usual fittings, including fridge and microwave. The highway out front was dead at night, and there was nothing out back all the way to the distant hills, so it was very quiet too. I slept well! One thing they need to fix though...at least in the room I had, there was no place to hang clothes. It would have been nice to have at least some pegs and hangers on the wall. Other than that, it was great!
