We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Inn at 161! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The inn itself is charming, beautifully decorated, and filled with cozy touches that create the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway.

Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged with everything we needed for a peaceful stay. And the breakfast—wow! Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious, adding an extra special touch to our experience.

The location was ideal—close enough to explore downtown yet still offering a quiet and serene escape. Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat, a solo getaway, or simply a relaxing stay, I highly recommend The Inn at 161. We can’t wait to return!

A group of 14 friends stayed at The Inn at 161 for four nights and Kerry accommodated us above and beyond expectations from the minute we checked in. She made sure we had everything we needed, and then some. Our room was very clean and the pillows and beds comfortable. It’s a beautiful property in a fantastic location downtown Sutter Creek. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great little B&B in town, very quaint and pretty. The owner, Carrie, gave us personalized service and was diligent in making sure we had a nice stay.
The rooms are well appointed, and we had the Brönte Room. Water pressure was good in the claw foot tub! Continental breakfast in the cute dining room was very nice. The only possible issue that could arise is having a neighboring room keep their television on late, as the walls are thin (as expected for a vintage house). We had no problems.

Wonderful, romantic spot to stay. Super clean, Mary on the staff was so nice and very friendly. The room exceeded our expectations. You can walk downtown easily. Absolutely loved it!

AVOID THIS PLACE! ||We stayed one night. That part was fine, although in truth it had been much better when we stayed in the past under different ownership. But HERE'S where you get a real sense of the place. ||My wife and I had to leave unexpectedly due to an extreme family emergency. We notified Mary at 8:30am on the morning of our 2nd day (plenty of notice), who told us that if it was up to her she'd certainly provide a refund for 2nd night, but it was up to Kerry, the GM, who'd be in later. ||Long story short, even explaining everything, providing early notice, a note, and a followup call from the road home, we were turned down flat. THIS PLACE FEIGNS CARING ABOUT IT'S GUESTS, BUT IT'S ALL A HOLLOW ACT. No real compassion, just a pretty craven money grab. So, we arrived at 5pm, left 9am, hardly mussed the sheets, didn't even take showers, and were forced to pay for 2 nights. Needless to say, we'll never be back. There are too many other better alternatives. And, it really isn't about the money at all but the lack of empathy and caring. I never write negative reviews, but I just had to this time. BUYER BEWARE with this place.

It was a wonderful experience. We had good service, and free breakfast in the morning was delightful. The staff served us coffee when we walked in for breakfast. If I am ever in Sutter again, I will come back here.

Gorgeous property and equally well laid out suite. Very quiet place,at least while we were there.The breakfast next morning was a bonus with fresh pastry, loaded oatmeal, speciality coffee etc.

AVOID THIS PLACE!

First of all, PLEASE DO read the response from the hotel below. This should tell you everything you need. She falsely accuses us of leaving due to political views!? This was never discussed and false. Other guests were lovely and cordial. I believe instead this person looked at where we live and made assumptions about us, and I believe, took her position because of it. Wow. And, her offer (not even for a full nights stay) was useless as it was 10 years since our LAST stay. We left for a family emergency as we stated clearly. Considering further action.

So, in summary, we arrived at 5pm, left at 9am, hardly mussed the sheets, didn't even take showers, and were forced to pay for 2 nights. Needless to say, we'll never be back. There are too many other better alternatives. And, it really isn't about the money at all but the lack of empathy, caring and class. I never write negative reviews, but I just had to this time. BUYER BEWARE with this place.
