Stayed in June and had a perfectly fine visit. This one in September was terrible. During a heat wave the AC went out three times, including over night when no options were available. Room was 90 degrees over night. The next day it went out again, we were then told then to go to another room. But while we attended our event (a funeral) our room was left wide open with door wide open--apparently they had tried to fix the AC and then left, without bothering to close the door. Not sure if anything was stolen. Absolutely terrible. When I was asked on checkout if my stay was nice, I said (obviously) "no." Told to leave a note for manager who called a day later and said that maybe he could offer a discount on our next (!) stay in the future if we booked. But of course didn't give his name or contact info (just the regular 800 number). No compensation offered for the terrible stay we had just had. No apology. No nothing. Avoid this place unless you want to get heat stroke!

The mold upon entering this room was EPIC. ||The AC unit would loudly "whoosh" up and down to regulate temperature. ||The bedsheets were not clean! There was grit and sand in the bed. You could see the wrinkles of where the last person had been laying in them! It was late when I arrived, so I stripped the bed, shook the scratchy sheets and pillowcases and turned them over, then remade the bed. ||Did I mention the mold? I was choking by the time I got out of there the next day. ||My neighbor above me was an elephant, stomping around to the point that my room below was shaking. Not entirely the neighbor's fault as the building is ancient and poorly constructed. ||When I checked in, I was told there was a restaurant available in the main clubhouse. I double-checked with the morning desk @ 9am and the less than friendly gal there pointed me to the restaurant. I walked the 25ft distance from her to the restaurant, but it was obvious it wasn't open. Someone from staff finally wandered through and when I asked about the kitchen, they said, it didn't open until 11a -- which doesn't make sense given it's a golf club and there were scores of people on the green by 7am||The plus side? If the bed had been fresh, it was actually a quite comfortable mattress. I love that there's a patio door you can open for fresh air (given I was choking on mold). ||The room is nicely appointed with a small kitchenette, tons of charging spots for your devices, a robe and simple toiletries. The TV was ridiculously small, but I wasn't there to catch up on Netflix.||Convenient location, absolutely... bring your HEPA filter

Room was one of the least clean I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Went to get out of the shower yesterday and grabbed the “clean towel” that had dried blood on it. The next day we found two bugs in our shower. Room has dust, build up and debris everywhere. You can hear every conversation, door shutting, etc. Weed wackers woke us up at 9am the only|day we could sleep in. We didn’t complain about any of it, we were waiting to talk to customer service about it when we checked out. She didn’t say a word to me or ask about our stay at all. Overall, would not reccomend or stay here ever again.

Nice gym and pool. Really this is a country club that caters to golf members. As a hotel guest you are an after thought. Nice view, food was ok for country club (bar food). Price was great considering it was DelMar days but just need to adjust your expectations here. I stay again but eat elsewhere.

Formerly Known As Morgun Run Club & Resort, La Valle Coastal Club & Resort hotel accommodations for family and wedding guests were pleasant and affordable the weekend of February 22-25, 2024. Kurt Johnson, Director of Rooms, and his staff were very pleasant to work with and very accommodating with regards to delivering gift bags for specific guests when they checked in. This hotel was chosen due to the proximity to wedding venue, The Secret Garden, in Rancho Santa Fe and was recommended by the venue management. Kurt Johnson worked with us in setting aside a block of rooms and we ended up with around 26 rooms, at least one of those being a two room suite with two bathrooms which worked well for receiving friends & family as they arrived in days prior to the wedding.|The property itself is a great location with nice amenities, however needs some major updated remodeling or rehabilitation to the hotel portion - fixtures, finishes, furnishing, etc. - befitting to such a great location.
