This hotel makes you feel like you are home away from home. Everyone was so friendly! The homemade breakfast was delicious and filling. I was relieved and delighted to see they had plenty of vegetarian options.
There was a review saying you can hear everything outside the room. That’s true if the room next to you is occupied. This may be a deal breaker for some but it wasn’t a problem for us. I’m not sure if all the bathrooms are shared but we shared a bathroom with another room. It was a clean bathroom, as well as the room we stayed in. We would definitely stay here again in this cute little town. We look forward to coming here again.

This place was everything we hoped for in a getaway to the snow -- and more! The hotel itself is full of charming, beautiful, and thoughtful details, from the furniture and fixtures to the games and roaring fire in the lobby. The weekend breakfast was absolutely fantastic and allowed us time to explore the town instead of driving somewhere else to eat. The proprietor, Leif, was on hand when we checked in and was so helpful and personable, and ensured that our stay was truly delightful. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the quiet, historic town of Dutch Flat, the Dutch Flat Hotel offers a truly unique experience. As one of California's oldest operating hotels, it's brimming with Gold Rush charm, transporting you to a bygone era.

My recent stay solidified its place as a favorite getaway spot, and I can't wait to share why.
From the moment I arrived, the staff's warmth and hospitality made me feel welcome. Check-in was a breeze, and I was soon exploring the hotel's fascinating collection of historical artifacts. I stayed in Bordello and then moved to the Honeymoon suite which was not only beautifully decorated and comfortable but also spotlessly clean. The Honeymoon Suite was simply magical, with a large bed and a comfortable rollaway bed for our kid.

One of the things that sets the Dutch Flat Hotel apart is its thoughtful amenities. Having access to a guest kitchen was a huge plus! Being able to prepare some of my own meals, especially with the conveniently located grocery store right across the street, added a level of flexibility that I truly appreciated. This is particularly helpful for families or those on a budget.

And let's talk about location! Dutch Flat itself is a charming town, perfect for a peaceful retreat. But its proximity to several ski resorts is a major draw for winter sports enthusiasts. Imagine spending a day on the slopes and then returning to the cozy comfort of this historic hotel!

The highlight of my stay, though, was the amazing breakfast. It's clear that the hotel takes pride in providing a delicious and satisfying breakfast experience.

Beyond the comfortable accommodations and convenient amenities, the Dutch Flat Hotel offers something truly special: a sense of community and connection to history. It's a place where you can relax, recharge, and experience the charm of a simpler time. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway in the Honeymoon Suite, a base for exploring the nearby ski resorts, or simply a peaceful escape, the Dutch Flat Hotel is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

We had the most enchanting stay at this wonderful hotel. The rooms are unique and charming with antique furniture. The self check in was easy. Leif and Heidi were friendly and hospitable, breakfast was amazing! We enjoyed our stay so much we came back for a second visit within a week.

If I could choose a zero I would! My family went here this weekend through Airbnb app and it was an absolute disaster.after driving 2 plus hours.. When arriving there the code given did not work for one, for two the host was terrible with direction and very unprofessional after I called him 4-5 times and couldn’t get through, we decided to go elsewhere. He then finally decided to contact me and tell me he was absolutely okay with giving me refund due to the inconveniences abroad. Well, Airbnb then contacted me and told me they contacted the host Mr. Leif Lowery and he said he WAS NOT going to accept the refund… needless to say shoutout to Airbnb for covering Mr. Ls expense. Do not recommend!

Where to start? Great location. One of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed at. Very clean rooms. If you are expecting front desk and people to wait on you don't stay here. We loved that you let yourself in, find your own room. It's a super amazing hotel. Great decor. Fabulous kitchen. They let you be and do your own thing. They did have breakfast on the weekend, but we left early so never stayed, but the host was very nice and had coffee ready. We will for sure back. My only con is I never saw a ghost...Love this place.

A self-serve Airbnb style place. If you're looking for a quiet place and aren't afraid to make yourself at home, this is the place for you! We were passing through and loved the historic home feel, the location, and the quiet. Beds were comfy, our family room & bathroom was clean and comfortable, and the weekend breakfast was delicious! This place has WiFi, a/c, is dog friendly, and there's a little convenience store across the street.
