Clean and nice room, a bit small to fit luggage but we made it work. Perfect location in the city with a lot of restaurants just around the corner. If you're up for it it's walking distance to most of central SF and all the sights. It was really worth the price!

Me and my partner stayed here for our first visit to San Fransisco and found it to be very good. I cannot emphasize how GREAT the location is; there were an endless amount of great restaurants and bars within a 5 minute radius and access to public transportation was great. The room was clean, but the kitchen and bathroom were slightly run down and could’ve been a bit cleaner. Nothing bad though. The online check in was definitely not ideal and the customer service was not the greatest, but we got in on time and everything was worked properly once we got in. Overall, I 100% would stay here again for a budget-friendly trip!

Such a lovely stay! It's a hostel kind of place, shared bathrooms and showers, but has a beautiful kitchen with lots of cutlery and appliances. Location is awesome, one of the better areas in San Francisco to stay - quite safe (as much as it can be). Door code instructions were confusing at first if you're sharing a room with someone, but once you get the hang of it it's ok. Opening the door with an app is cool but in case your phone dies you're kinda stuck, because there is no representative in the lobby.

Great place to stay when you're visiting San Francisco on a low budget. It's surrounded by many restaurants and different option to have lunch or dinner.

Near the place you will find a lot of homeless and sometimes feels like a unsafe area, but I think is just the feeling.

It's 4 blocks away from Van Ness station

Great location, vibrant neighborhood with many good dinning options in walking distance. Public transportation options close by as well. Check-in can seem intimidating at first but in actuality isn't as complicated as some reviews make it sound. Great option for short stays and budget-minded travelers looking for a spot to rest.

Room was nice. Bathroom was ok. Everything was clean. The check-in process is a code for the outer door and an inner door and the OpenKey app to open your room door. Water was soft so longer to shower, but that's not necessarily their fault. Again not their fault but I couldn't fimd a mimi mart, convenience store or grocery story within easy walking distance. Overall a good experience and a good stay.

I have stayed at The Annex multiple times. It is the best value for money place you could find in the Hayes Valley area. The neighborhood is one of my favorite ones in San Francisco: full of life, restaurants, bakeries and shops. If you are on a budget and want/need to stay in the Hayes Valley area, this is definitely a great option. Recommended!
