3/5
A hotel thrives on the thoughtfulness of the management and staff, as well as the design and feeling of the rooms.
This place commands an expectation of excellence and delivers a stunning visual with its geographic location and the design of the buildings, starting at the front door.
Reception is a breathtaking wall of amethyst crystal.
When we walked in 2 people were working at reception desk. 3 people waiting for check in already.
Phone rang and one receptionist left to handle it and more people came in for check in. Now 5 standing at check in. 1 receptionist.
She finished call and leaves desk to seat diners at the restaurant, despite 2 bartenders and a waiter being in close proximity and entirely available. Starts taking drink orders.
Waiter leaning on bar laughing with customer.
More people come in. Now my breath is being taken by the cold draft coming in from the door.
Average check in time is 3-5 minutes.
8 people in line at this point, and lobby is jam packed.
Finally we are at desk and we check in. The poor girl at reception was clearly unsettled by the amount of people waiting. More come in as we leave. No sight of other lady.
Room numbers are unnecessarily geometric, and a 3 looks EXACTLY like a 5. Sounds impossible, but they made it happen.
Very nice soaps and lotions in the showers.
Room is cozy and modern. So modern that there isn’t any washcloths?
On the wall to left of the bed is a sensor, virtually unnoticeable.
Then I turn the light off to sleep and approximately once per minute a bright green flash that holds sleep at bay for another 30 minutes. When I wake up to use bathroom, I am greeted again by the green flash. Sleep is elusive.
This place holds promise.
A promise yet to be filled.
