TLDR... Nostalgic comment.
This place still looks the same, not sure if that's good or bad. I cannot comment about the current service. This was the first place we stayed at when me & my family first came to Redding in 1994. We stayed at the Shasta Lodge for about a month. I was 12 years old, I used to walk all over Downtown Redding looking for new friends and something to do. No complaints about this place from what I remember. I no longer live in Redding, this place brings back a lot of good memories.

Was on business trip in Redding, staff was very nice and helpful! They gave me coupons to use at the local attractions. My room was great tidy and it was quiet. There was plenty of free parking for larger vehicles and RVs... I drove an RV that was not too large and not to small.

A little dated but great use for transitional housing. Rooms could be in better condition, location is right next to the Downtown businesses and RABA major transportation hub.

My friend and I didn't plan to stay I. redding but came upon the Shasta Lodge using our GPS after a long drive. We called and were quoted 85 dollars but found it for 45 online the desk clerk advised they would honour this price so it's definitely beneficial to ring and enquire. ||We paid 50.40 with tax for a twin room for the night. We were told coffee and Danish were available from 7am. The pool area seemed nice but the pool itself was actually closed. The room was really clean, no issues at all, spacious bedroom area and wash basin then small bathroom. There was a tv with cable and the bed was comfy, air con was provided and free parking and wifi. There were plenty of little restaurants in the area too. Our only concern was when talking to a local in a gas station he advised us that the area in which the Shasta Lodge is located isn't the safest. We experienced no issues with the area though and walked around till around 8/9pm. ||Overall we had a pleasant and comfortable stay.

When I arrived at this so called lodge I quickly found out my reservation was a mistake. Located in the middle of nowhere, not near the lake, road noise from the freeway and one greasy spoon place to eat next door. Rooms were out of the 50's and did not look comfortable at all. Once we understood what this place was all about, we decided to move on down the road to find better accommodations. Considering this place appeared to be close to empty when we were there, their rates were clearly too much for what little they offered. I recommend you avoid this place and book one of the hotel -motels further down the road towards and on the lake itself.

The rooms can be cleaned stardust motel is bad bugs and roaches in the rooms Shasta Lodge is very clean no roaches the food is ready good and help people get back on they fl.

Don't let the nasty smell in the office turn you away from this place. It has a neat 70's vibe and very spacious quarters. The price was good and it was nice to have a fridge, microwave and cable in our room. It would have been nice to have the pool available but no biggie. BYO shampoo and soap but other than that this place was nice and we would stay there again.

I am not a motel snob, but I do have some standards. For example, when you shut the door to your room, you shouldn't be able to see light all around the closed door. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was dark and dank. Although I stayed just after labor day and the temperature was 95 degrees, the pool was already drained and covered with a tarp. A swim would have felt pretty good, but to know avail. The neighborhood made me feel just a bit uneasy about the motel and the security of the area. I would opt for a nicer motel next time, and could probably get one for the same price of the Shasta Lodge. Not good.
