During my recent stay, I had the pleasure of encountering Michael at the front desk, whose level of service was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I arrived, he exuded a warmth and professionalism that immediately set the tone for an exceptional experience. What truly set Michael apart, however, was his willingness to go above and beyond for even the smallest details—when I inquired about bottled water, he didn’t hesitate to personally ensure I had everything I needed, handling the request with efficiency and genuine care. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to hospitality, and his attentiveness did not go unnoticed. A true asset to the establishment, Michael embodies the kind of service that turns a simple stay into a memorable one.

It is a wonderful wonderful stay. I stayed 4 nights. Enjoyed the hammock, the fire pit and the pool bar, pool and hot tub. Realized that there was another fire pit. So it’s really cool how they create a few gathering holes to throughout their hotel. It feels extra cozy and on a sunny day, the hammock is so comfy to use. I love how you have a front yard and a backyard. I felt really relaxed while I was there. Kudos to the management and staff for making such a naturally fun atmosphere. It can also feel very intimate.

Definitely a place to visit again.

Oh and I wanted to appreciate the guy at the front desk. So helpful and welcoming from day 1.

We spent time at River Lodge on a quick trip to Paso in December and wish we would have had more days. The rooms are absolutely fantastic and a terrific meal at the restaurant. As someone who has stayed in some incredible hotels, River Lodge ranks up there. If you are going with friends, romantic weekend or with kids this is the place. Great addition to Paso Robles.

The landscaping is absolutely stunning, creating a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. Quiet and tranquil—ideal for those looking for a kid-free escape.

Dining at Ciao Papi was another highlight. The food is exceptional, and the service matches the quality of the cuisine. Whether it’s a full dinner or a quick bite, the restaurant hits all the right notes.

Speaking of service, the staff throughout the property were warm, professional, and attentive, ensuring every need.

It’s rare to find a place that delivers on every aspect of a stay, but this renovated mid-century modern motel truly does. If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway, this is the spot.

An absolutely adorable newly renovated motel. We spent 2 nights here and truly enjoyed ourselves. The property has been updated and the decor is outstanding both outside and in the rooms. The beds are super comfy and we loved the pizza at the pool. I wish it was walkable to more restaurants but still only a short 7 minute drive to downtown Paso Robles and only a few minutes away from plenty of wineries.

I have already recommended this place to friends who live in the surrounding area as an excellent stay-cation.

This was my second time in Paso Robles, and I loved my stay at River Lodge. It’s about a 5.5 to 6-hour drive from San Diego, and I was impressed by how conveniently located it is. Everything from Downtown Paso and Tin City to Walmart, Target, wineries, and more is nearby, making it the perfect spot. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our room was spotless upon arrival and kept that way throughout our stay. The pool was a relaxing bonus, with floaties provided. The on-site restaurant, Ciao Papi, was excellent too! I’d definitely stay here again. A special shoutout to David and Michael for being so attentive and kind!

I was lucky to stay here for one night and just didn’t want to leave. This property is quintessential California, retro glam at its best! Incredible pool, restaurant and bar and it’s dog friendly too! The room was so comfy and the hammock is such a nice touch. I love every design detail of the hotel, the attention to detail is impressive.|Shout out to Michael with his great energy at the Front Desk, Jose and Peter at the bar (great cocktails, worth skipping the wine si promise! ).|You should stay here before it gets too popular.
