The River House has an incredible view with both Bald Eagles and Brown Bears appearing during our 3 night stay. It is both comfortable and well equipped and would love to return.

This is a fabulous place with fantastic views across the water where bald eagles soar and land, and we even caught glimpses of seals. The owners provided a telescope which was very useful on a daily basis. It is an unusual place in that the main kitchen, bathroom and living space has a bedroom in the loft area and if you need additional bedroom space for other guests you need to book the downstairs bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette which has a separate entrance. Both parts of the property were very clean and inviting. The smaller property has the laundry facilities but can easily be used by the main property. The kitchen was well equipped and cooking facilities were more than adequate. Would recommend.

We stayed in the top floor unit for two nights and we were the only ones there - perfect situation for a restful stay. The location of River House is fantastic! Wonderful views across the water, eagles soaring by every other minute, quiet and private yet not far from downtown. Although the linens were clean, the rest of the house needed a thorough deep cleaning - windows, blinds, etc. The floors needed sweeping - a lot of dead bugs and dust bunnies. We washed the dishes before using since we found a glass in the dish drainer and weren't sure if it was clean. Also, repairs are needed to the window cranks so that they work to open the windows. Wonderful location but needs a little TLC.

I found this house online several years ago and couldn't wait to book it. Well this was the year and we just returned. My family and I just adored the house and the location. The house is in such a wonderful location. Such wonderful silence and wondrous views of the mountains and Eagles and river. The owner is great to work with and loves when you love it. As I write this review from New Jersey I'm dreaming of the riverhouse in Haines Alaska. Thank you Deb and see you soon.

Spent a couple of nights in the lower unit. Couldn't of been more comfortable. It is very quiet! You have all the essentials you need including a fridge, microwave and a hotplate. The bed was comfortable. Once you step outside the view can't be beat. It is truly a wonderful little gem of a place to stay. You are close to town yet you feel like you a miles away! Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed a couple of nights in the upper unit. The view was unbeatable! The unit itself was perfect for our weekend getaway. Private, cozy and quiet while still only minutes from town. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Spent a couple weeks in the lower unit. It was conveniently located just minutes from town along the river and beach trails. The studio was very clean and comfortable. Deb and Rufus were gracious and helpful hosts. Highly recommend!
