Our stay was very pleasant, we stayed for a few weeks and it was lovely, we were allowed to cook in a hot pan so that was nice, we did our laundry there & it's very affordable. Right now we're staying at a motel that doesn't allow us to cook and even the owner told us "that's too much stuff you're unloading, I don't want it in there, take it back" it was shocking to say the least. We still got our things when he walked away. Anyway, I wish we had lovely owners & people working at the inn like Lisa & her daughter. Thank you!

I take the Amtrak train from Dallas three or four times a year and stay overnight at the Ridge (on my way to the lake house at Horseshoe Bend). Whatever room I'm given, it's clean, simple and a nice place to hang your hat at a reasonable price.
Never had a problem. If you're in the area and need a place a stay, I suggest you give the Ridge a call.

On our return to Nebraska, we planned to stay in Jonesboro but the hotels were filled. So, we decided to travel on and just stay in a motel along the way. We knew we would be going through several small towns and decided on the Callahan Hotel in Walnut Ridge, AR. We looked at reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor and there were comments like "charming, quaint, etc." There was only one negative review of this hotel and it was scathing. We decided that there always has to be someone who complains and took it with a grain of salt. We were wrong! This place is filthy. Absolutely filthy. We had a two bed room and when my husband turned down the sheets on his bed, there were long black hairs. Obviously, these sheets had not been washed since the last guest had stayed. He slept on top of the bed using his coat and a blanket we had in the car. I pulled the nightstand away to plug in my telephone and the dirt behind it and behind the beds was revolting. I don't think it has ever been cleaned or swept out. I did take pictures of the dirt on the floor in the bathroom. We did not use the bathroom to bathe or shower. We were angry we had not checked out the room before we paid for it. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Room was not not clean, towels were what I would describe as “car towels”, the type of towels I use to was my car. Wife and I brought our Clorox wipes and cleaned everything, we always do but this room needed it. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was completely caked with dust and lint and served no function (until I cleaned it). Would not have even written this completely accurate review had I not been charged an additional $15 charge for some reason. Not worth my time to find out why? Left the key where we were told, left on time and definitely left the room cleaner than it was upon check in.

We stayed at this pet friendly hotel while passing through the area. The owner was very friendly and super-accommodating as we were traveling with a litter of puppies and their mama. Our room and the bathroom were both very clean, including a flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator and a hair dryer. The bathroom was small and did not have any counter space to place personal toiletries. A small shelf would be very helpful. We stayed in a single room which also had a nightstand and an upholstered chair. There really was no place to place our bags so a small table or folding luggage rack would be perfect. The only negative to our stay was that there were some construction workers also staying there who just hung out in the small parking area. They did not bother us, just made us skeptical of the area. I would stay here again if in the area.

Room was nice, updated and clean for the most part. I found wadded up napkins that were not ours under the bed.Bed was comfortable. It was good for a one night stay on our way back to Kansas from Florida. I would stop again after a long trip. I'm sure a lot of people pass it by based on outside appearance; however, don't let that fool you.

The Callahan Hotel in Walnut Ridge, AR. was amazing. The hotel was very charming and comfortable. The neighborhood is fantastic. There are a number of fast food restaurants with in walking distance. A short walk down the way leads to the town's center which houses a few cool shops and some really cool Beatles' paraphernalia. Not sure why, but it was cool to see.

Barbra, the woman that welcomed us, was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The rooms are much bigger than I would have expected with hardwood floors and plenty of closet and drawer space. The beds were super comfortable. I'm so glad we found the Callahan Hotel and can't wait to get back.

I looked at the pictures on Google Maps and thought, "Hey, it looks pretty good!"... then I got there! OMG! It was nothing like the pictures...much, much worse! Tiny, tiny bathroom, tiny closet... no desk chair, the recliner had stains that made me shudder and the air conditioning was caked in a dark substance I could only imagine was mold. There was a layer of dust on the TV and the desk holding the TV and the only light was in a 3 light ceiling fan over the bed that had only 1 bulb in it. There was a smoke stand outside the door with a 5 gallon gas can beside it (made me VERY nervous). I did not feel safe. The office was closed when I arrived to check in and I had to call the woman to come do the check in. I then saw the room and was blissfully called to another town. I had to call and wait for her to return, and then wait for someone else to come to reverse the charge on my credit card. I posted some pictures to Google so there would be some honest photos. I don't know who posted the pretty pictures of the clean, well appointed rooms. But it was a deliberate attempt to mislead people. It fooled me. Don't let it fool you!
