When I had first come here, I had come with the hopes during each appointment that I would be able to find something that could help me see something that I could not. It turned out not to be the case in the end.

Instead, I was having to take too long to explain myself over and over again. My concerns would be often met with doubt, minimizing, and/or new concepts which would only cause me to question myself and cause me even more anxiety or frustration in the end. This had been especially frustrating when the goal was to help with my anxiety, but ideas instead had been put into my head to be afraid of everyone-- which included my own friends who I cared the most for.

Colleen is a counselor with very little understanding of how the town (the town which this particular office is in) actually is. She doesn't strike me as a very worldly person who has any hope of understanding the minority youth that she works with, and it's enough so to cause concern that she may not be the most effective with said minority youth and could be causing more harm than help. However, I do find that her strong point may potentially be working with those who are more in her own age group. Being able to even somewhat relate to the client you are treating is something that I've found is very important with the research I have made on counselors in my spare time, and-- seeing that I am a minority youth-- she simply was not that. She never was.

Regardless, I cannot fault the entire office for my constant struggles with her, so this is mostly a review for Colleen in particular. I am not saying this out of anger or a desire for her to be in trouble, as it's mostly from a place of disappointment, frustration, and a drive for improvement. I want future generations to be able to have a much easier time reaching out and getting the help they need without having to experience these pitfalls.

When you let 18+ kids live an hr. away and never ask how they are or check up on them, or believe the kids when they say there being abused, doesn't sound good to me. And when you let Child molesters take in kids doesn't sound like a good company to me. You distroyed a lot of inoccent children's lives because you couldn't do your job!
