Always late, never open during actual pick up or drop off times. Maybe if the city cared for transport and tourism they'd spruce it up. But clearly not. How are you going to have majority of your trains and busses pick up at 2am? To just not have any facilities open? Tickets aren't cheap. They definitely have the money to have a clerk at those hours. Or even maintenence.

Haven't picked up the train here, but visited here for 1068, which seems to be a permanent fixture outside the depot. Would a good place to photograph mainline trains too, but the trestle less than a mile away is altogether a better spot.

There is no amtrak ticket office which means you can’t buy and print tickets in person, which makes it impossible to get a CA rail pass ticket.

The train was over three hours late, due to the rainy weather and Amtrak's decision to both gate off the covered area and their negligence, the only dry area was covered in trash and what appears to be vomit. These factors made the wait exceptionally uncomfortable.

Train is always 4+ hours late. Rent a car and drive it's both faster and cheaper.

On top of that the station stays locked up and you cannot access the bathroom or anything while they leave you stranded here.

Amtrak needs to go out of business. Let someone else take over.

Has moved ordering and payment for transit digitally now
Please refer to website instead of station due to ca employment laws requiring active personell handling all orders.
The station hasn't had installation of a single digital station to pay for mass transit by train. Request for a single pay (point of sale[pos]) terminal with hours should help people recognize the hours it operates.

I normally don’t write one star reviews but the experience we had with my grandson over the holidays was just so terrible. They were late by 6 hours! Then upon his return time they ran behind by another 3 hours and it was supposed to be a 3:30 am departure time. It was dark and cold and in downtown Redding. We were very unsatisfied with our experience as a family with this.

The station is closed and locked, with the interior unaccessible to the public. No restrooms or benches. Arriving here at 2am waiting for the southbound train sucks. Avoid if possible.
