My tenure here began when the complex was still seemingly managed efficiently. The manager Jennifer was amazing and helpful and 98% responsive. Then the complex owner died, left the property to who ever and new management, AMC, took over. Budgets changed, services left and it now is not covered by security, more tenants are obviously on federal assistance and welcome five people in a unit, refuse stations overflow, landscape dying. Sad. I broke the lease, they had a renter 11 days later and CA “law” allowed them to charge me for the time left on the paint job (!). Sad. Maintenance was good, but not professional. Stay away u less our plan on a short term

Really great experience after living here for a while. Staff was always accessible, courteous, and very fair. I locked myself out of my apartment twice and they helped me without a complaint or a charge. There are plenty of clean washers and dryers with a great phone app that lets you pay without quarters. There’s a great mix of people who live here as well, most very friendly and respectful. There’s also always available guest parking and I never had an issue with neighbor noise although the wood frame buildings are not soundproof. Overall a great experience and I would recommend that just about any individual or small family call it home.

Lived here for 2 years with my husband (2018-2020) & here is our honest review of Portola Meadows Apartments.

Let me start off by expressing how LOUD the apartment is. There is heavy traffic going through both Portola Ave AND Portola Meadows Road (don’t let the small road fool you) with people that love to rev their engines and motorcycles. There are lots of inconsiderate neighbors in this apartment complex that blast music from their cars at all hours in the night, people yell at their children in the parking lot, in addition to the noisy large dogs barking all day.

When we moved in, we expressed how we need a quiet environment to work from home and the staff assured us that this is a quiet complex, which it is not.

If you are looking for an apartment complex free of crime, this is NOT the one for you. Cars are always broken into constantly, catalytic converters stolen (our neighbor got theirs stolen TWICE in a 3 month period), and mailboxes were broken into before they were changed to new ones in 2019.

Portola Meadows claims there is security that patrols the complex. I have lived here for 2 years and have NEVER seen any type of security around the complex, especially during late night hours when I would come home late from work around 1 AM.

The complex was built awhile ago so the walls are paper thin and there is barely any insulation causing your apartment to get very hot in August/September and very cold in January/February. Be ready to run your AC or heater all day during those months.

Another downfall is that the air conditioning unit is on the unit’s patio so it will be very loud inside when it is running.

A plus side is the maintenance staff and select office staff members that are helpful. Another positive is that the water/sewer bill is included in your rent.

My husband and I have lived in various apartment complexes before, not just Portola Meadows. Needless to say, our experience was mediocre.

I was a resident at Portola Meadows Apartments for nearly three years. While there, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay due to the kind and thoughtful leasing agents, responsive and responsible maintenance staff, and lovely accommodations. The grounds at Portola Meadows are always well manicured, and the people you deal with are nothing short of lovely! A large thanks to all those who work for this company as you have made my California adventure a delight!

Worst Move out Experience! Don't sign up any lease coz in case you break it even before a month of your lease agreement they will charge all the possible charges any you will end up in loosing your hard earned money. Also no matter you left the apartment in ready to move in condition they will deduct almost every single penny from the security deposit. Also the management is very unprofessional they will send you the false pics of some other apartment claiming the work they have done when you left the apartment. Pathetic experience! never ever take apartment on rent in this society.
