I had the best customer service with Reese. As soon as I walked in she greeted me with a smile. She showed me around and was very knowledgeable. She was polite and courteous. She truly took her time o explain and make me feel comfortable. I wasn’t rushed or pressured. Please go see Reese if you Want the best customer service. This is a great place to live. We have been here for 11 years and we love it here. The maintenance staff is amazing, special Emilio. There's nothing he can't fix.
We have mostly been lucky with our neighbors and we hang out together when we're all home

It is a great location and value for the price. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Our views are amazing in our corner apt. It is an older building, but fairly well maintained. My main gripes would be stealing, the carpet condition & access. I've lived here almost 5 years, carpet was old to begin w/ and after months of asking, recently they would only replace the living room. So we have different carpet in different rooms. Make sure you get new flooring. Also there are people digging through the trash & stealing. It's a common complaint. We had 2 kayaks stolen. No dock access.
You get 1 spot to park which is covered & nice. Other parking is limited & there is no walk in gate near peninsula exit so it's a decent walk when you park on street. Visitors, delivery etc. have to be met on the street. The auto entrance & exit gates are on opposite ends & only open one way. Otherwise Paz Mar is a great place to live. I only point out those things so potential residents know.

My sink is still leaking. It feels like they just put a Band-Aid on instead of replacing the garbage disposal that is old and doesn't function properly. There's always things that are falling apart so I'm surprised you guys keep asking for reviews when you provide such poor service. They will always do the Band-Aid option first before doing what they know is necessary because it's just corporate procedure for them, instead of fixing things the first time the right way they make you make multiple requests and spend precious hours of your life. Essentially begging them to do the right thing that they could just do the first time. The building is old and run down and in need of a serious makeover and yet they still charge premium prices. I could go on but I don't have enough characters in this review.

I had been looking at apartments in the Ventura/Oxnard area and only two of them took the time to really engage and talk to me about living there. Irene at PazMar was one of them.
She gave me all the info I requested and gave me options that I didn’t know I wanted.
This is mostly missing in American businesses today.

Although I like my actual apartment, and my neighbors, the problems with management, services, and every other thing brings the rating down to 1 star. In a period of 60 days my car was broken in to twice, and my storage was broken in to once and $1200 worth of property stolen. Nobody around me had any problems. Everyone I told said I was obviously targeted. Everyone EXCEPT management. There is supposedly a Committee for Concerns Management Team that ONLY the manager is allowed to email (convenient), who will express tenant concerns to see if the committee will allow for the tenant to be able to have lease fees waived in certain circumstances in order to move. I was told I would have an answer in 48 hours. 1 week later, no answer, but when I emailed the manager, I quickly got a, "Sorry, they said no." How convenient that there was an immediate answer when I asked again, and it was a no.
Next, habitability issues. This is a gated community. Don't count on it! The gates are always broken. That's why my car and storage were also easily accessible. There are elevators. When they work. Ours was broken for 4 months, right when I had back surgery. No other access to my apartment other than 3 flights of stairs. Laundry facilities - half the washers work half of the time and they constantly raise the price per load. Parking - two bedroom apartments get 1 spot and there is very little extra parking, so good luck getting a spot even of you pay rent! Water is turned off every other day it seems because a sprinkler head was broken, or a main line was. I could continue, but you get the point.
Do I recommend these apartments? H*** NO!! RUN! FAST! In the opposite direction. A good view isn't worth all of the issues this place has. It doesn't have all the vacancies for no reason, especially for waterfront living!
