It appears to be failing, at least from the lanlord point of view. If I were the tenant I would be furious. My contact Myrel who says she's the Supervisor refuses to respond to email, her voicemail box is full then claims "I didn't receive it in time"?!? REALLY. Orange County Housing Authority you can do BETTER. This is not acceptable when you are trying to help. So Sad....I feel bad.

I've had a decent experience with Housing. I was helping my disabled homeless Veteran Brother get an apartment. It took a bit, and certainly wasn't easy but we did it. He's been in an apartment for two years now! Thank you OCHA!

One is on the waiting list for 13 years then deals with unapproachable staff like Anabel Guzman of whom recieves several complaints of her not being respectful or helpful and yet she's still thier. They rush you to find an apt on your own in two months you only find a studio of which is small for you and your children. Several Apts in Costa Mesa do not have housing much less with this inflation. I had a car accident in which affected my back neck shoulder and frequent headaches I provided a Dr note and still I got a 3 week extension. They'll send pamphlets of shelters but when it comes to really helping you thier too busy. I suggest they improve thier customer service skills and help vs being unhelpful. Why don't you send us a list of Apts currently taking housing so we can find one in 3 weeks put a deposit and hope our credit is approved. This office needs to make improvements vs setting people for failure.

You need to train your employees very well
I live in incorporated area in OC but padro Garza reflected me and he claimed that I don't live in Orange County either he doesn't know his job well, or he wanted to give my spot to someone else.
After 8 years in waiting list finaly when my turned come.and I submitted my papers he rejected me . He claimed I live in Anaheim.
12 years Ago Anaheim housing rejected me because my address # is over 8000 it's means I don't live in Anaheim, I live in incorporated area and it's belong to Orange County, even if I need the police the Shareef come not Anaheim police department.
All people.and departments knowl my address is belong to OC axept Pedro Garza he claimed I live in Anaheim,I called him.many time after I received the message and I left him a voicemail and he never respond 🤔🤔. I called his supervisor and left him voicemail and I hope.they call me On Monday

0 stars, actually -10 stars! The lady I dealt w, actually most of the ladies I had dealt were so rude, acting and talking to me as if I was taking up THIER time. They didn't help me when I was evicted after the leasing staff hid her mistake, by wanting me to sign the lease when I had covid n sed she wud email it n for me to just sign it n I did. Well she lied n sent me something else n I trusted her! Housing didn't help me AT ALL! they wudn't get involved bc it was Irvine co apts. And what happened to the law of not getting evicted if related to COVID?! I had been there for 3yrs not 1problem w the apts or housing n then BOOM! MY LIFE IS RIPPED APART but I was so relieved to get away from housing bc they were making me jump thru hoops for nothing other then to stress me out n get me to quit n go away, finally the last straw was when the lady at housing sed I emailed A BLANK PACKET (y wud I do that?) I know I filled it out but she didn't listen n I know she was lying. I need advice bc they did me so wrong! N I had so much anxiety stress n depression. I feel very screwed over n no one to help me. Or even listen. I wanted all that stress to end so I sed I give up.

I'm a vet and I'm also permanently disabled they're not intertwined. I have never gotten such close face on Face Time to get me help. Every single person from just Section 8 part to the VA hash has been so wonderful I cannot speak highly enough. I also go to the VA Long Beach and have a great doctor and I am referred within 3 weeks to whoever I need to see it's incredible. I could name people here but I don't think I'm supposed to. Smile

They are very helpful even with the cut backs due to the new Covid-19 Omicron variant. Only essential personnel are on site and the case worker's work from home. They are all working hard to accommodate their clients and respond as quickly as they possibly can.
