My husband has resided in Traditions since one month after the facility opened. Although there have been occasional minor problems, my overall opinion is that his care has been very good. He had advanced Alzheimer’s disease and has had a major stroke. He is not the easiest person to care for and can be difficult to handle at times. However, since Denise Wadkins has been the memory care director, his care has been exceptional. She is very responsive to requests and problems that arise and I feel much more confident that he is where he should be. His caregivers are also kind and sensitive to needs.

Oakmont is a gorgeous community! The residents are always welcoming and friendly! Queena does a great job of helping you out if you are looking into senior living for yourself or a loved one!

I come here a lot for home health visits, and even though it is a beautiful facility, I would not live here or send a loved one. There are buildings being built all around it, blocking the beautiful views of the mountains. The memory care unit is terrible. The residents sit all day and do nothing, they are not walked, etc which just causes more decline. The staff in this area specifically is lazy and rude to outside workers. I have also personally seen how the staff mistreats residents they do not like, constantly ignoring them, not giving them their meals, etc. Would I recommend this facility? No way.

My parents have been living at Oakmont of Riverpark for over 4 years. The special bonds they made with the other friendly and kind residents and staff (shout out to outstanding staff Gabby and Jennifer) made them feel so very happy that they moved to Oakmont. Tony is an amazing chef who creates delicious meals that based on the taste and presentation, you know he loves what he does. Waitstaff take the time to know each resident and their unique dining preferences.

Just recently, my mother passed away. The plan was to move my dad (who requires quite a bit of care) to a place closer to me. However, I ended up choosing to keep him at Oakmont of Riverpark. I kept him there because of the attentive staff, and particularly because of Ian Gadea who has shown nothing but respect, care, and love for not just my dad, but our whole family.

Ian is passionate about his job and wants to make sure everyone has the finest care possible by not just getting to know every resident's needs, but making sure his staff is aware, and that families are in on the whole process. He also recognizes and fights for what a resident requires for maximum comfort. The staff that work under him and help with Dad's care are attentive, professional, and friendly.

I am truly thankful that Mom and Dad moved into Oakmont of Riverpark.

My mother and stepfather both reside in memory care at Oakmont. They have been there for 3 years. I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated the care that has been given. My brother handles their care living close by. I am in Virginia. I love being able to go on FB and see all the activities and events happening. The staff is professional and kind.
Our stepdad passed away a few days ago. They have been so wonderful during this time and so compassionate.
I came down to spend several days with my mother. It warms my heart to see that my mother is happy. The staff goes out of their way to treat the residents with dignity and warmth.
It’s difficult to place your loved ones out of their homes but this was by far the best decision we could have made.

My visit at Oakmont Senior Living was delightful. The building is well maintained and very clean. While I was there all the residents were incredibly happy. All the staff was more than welcoming! Matthew Girardot was a fantastic point of contact for us very responsive and helpful. I would send my loved one to live here in a heart beat! I can’t say enough great things about this community. Even their lunch prepared by the kitchen looked delicious! All around I give Oakmont a 5 star, easily. It was an absolute pleasure to see nothing but happy well taken care of residents. If you’re in the market for an assisted living community don’t pass this one up!

It’s been a long process finding an Assisted Living for my mom. Matthew has been more than helpful, attentive and kind, as well as generous with his time.
After a few drive bys my mom asked to make an appointment to look at Oakmont. When she met Matthew she became relaxed and more comfortable as he encouraged her to be open to the possibilities. One room in particular called to her and with a little nudge she was excited to sign up and reserve her favorite room. She has called all her friends sending pictures of her room to be and even bragging about it. She has had many ups and downs since then but said she will not change her mind. I am very grateful to Matthew for his gentle expertise in leading my mom through a process that’s a bit intimidating to someone who has not moved in nearly 80 years. He gave her a gift of hope. She will be making the move in less than a week.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of entrusting my loved one to the Oakmont assisted living facility in Riverpark, which was a total disappointment. The unprofessionalism and the lack of responsiveness to my loved one's needs were shocking and deeply concerning. With great disappointment, I write this negative review to shed light on this facility's terrible care and management.
When my loved one moved into the facility, it was evident that the staff lacked the training and knowledge to provide adequate care to my mother, who has Parkinson’s and dementia. The caregivers demonstrated a general lack and understanding of how to care for my mother, and often, without understanding her condition, they would send her off to the ER so that they did not have to deal with it. This would cause my mom to panic, sometimes sitting at the ER for hours without medication and completely confused about where she was. It was disheartening to witness my loved one's deteriorating condition due to the facility's lack of attention and care. Medication errors were alarmingly frequent, and my loved one's health suffered. I thought that when my Mom went into a memory care facility, some of the stress would fall off of my family, but it was worse because I had to pick her up every time they sent her to the ER, and I felt as though I had to babysit the staff otherwise my mom wouldn’t get the right meds, care, etc.
What was most frustrating was the facility's complete lack of responsiveness to my concerns and requests. I was met with dismissive and unhelpful responses whenever I raised legitimate issues. The staff had no interest in addressing the problems or improving the quality of care. Phone calls and emails were unanswered for days, leaving me feeling abandoned and helpless. The only way I could get help was to go into Oakmont and speak with Chris, the sole employee at Oakmont, that kept his word and would follow through.
Oakmont of Riverpark did not meet the most basic expectations of care, professionalism, and responsiveness. The untrained staff, coupled with the dismissive management, created an environment that could have been more beneficial to the well-being of its residents. I strongly urge anyone considering this facility to explore alternative options, as the care and treatment provided here fall far below acceptable standards. Don’t let the modern and beautiful interior fool you; this place has a vast staff turnaround and a bad reputation in the assisted living community (ask other facilities, and they will roll their eyes, Oakmont is known for having terrible care and high fees). I wish I had further investigated and saved myself and my loved one the HUGE expense and grief! And even now, I am still waiting on my community fee return; they said they had it for me; we went to pick it up, and nobody could find it. They lost my $2,200 check; complete incompetence running this place.
