My father recently stayed here for a couple of weeks for rehab after surgery. Overall, the staff were great and he was looked after. The place always seemed to be busy with patients and staff. I think we had a good experience because we were there to advocate for our Dad's needs and the staff were accommodating and helpful. Thank you to everyone working there.

This place is awful. They entirely leave the care up to family members saying "I told the daughter/wife/cousin..." etc and leave it at that while the patient continues to suffer. It is their job to inform family of care, but it is also their job to provide appropriate care to the patient. My family had to transfer our grandfather from the wheelchair to the bed by ourselves because we were told they didn't have anyone to do it. Literally, multiple staff members walked past the room complaining that we shouldn't be doing it, but would not assist. My grandfather gained a bed sore even after we repeatedly informed them to turn him. The bed sore has since gotten bigger and are now seemingly "surprised" and tried to throw me under the bus for it because they "told" me. They would say "Yeah, we turned him", but when asked at what time we're usually met without an answer. We have witnessed staff giving him a straw when he is not allowed to drink with a straw. His head is meant to be kept elevated to prevent choking and we've seen them drop his headboard. They also don't feed him, shrugging their shoulders when they say "He won't eat", but we show up and see they only attempted with a single bite. They tell us they don't do bed baths. I mean...the list goes ON. To just really sum it up - if they see the patient is in need of total care and can leave all responsibility on family- they will do it GLADLY. They put all their priorities towards patients who are not in need of total care and leave the others to essentially rot, but claim they do total care.

This is a great nursing home to have your love ones the CNA specifically the ones that has experience they are very efficient and care about the patients also all of them Cnas are very good also the the head nurses are always on top of things and the recreation department are very family oriented crew they make the patients feel at home , the social department also are very helpful on anything the patient needs I really glad my mom is here I recommend this place. .

It’s a terrible place . I am diabetic HBP and they knew however they “were not ordered to check blood sugar os blood pressure . They said in two hours will bring the pain pills and it’s been over 4 hours. I got lots of pain and calling and calling, nobody cares. Have nauseas and I asked for a pill only until I throw up they gave me a pill.
Call for #1 nobody helped tillI went on the floor…. The rest you can imagine it
No pills for blood sugar, no pills for HP . …..

Northridge Care Center is located a few blocks from Northridge Hospital. It is a place for short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term care. When we were told my elderly stepfather would need to go into a nursing home following complications due to his open heart surgery, we were very concerned. I am pleased to comment that the progress he has made is the result of the kind and compassionate staff at Northridge Care Center. The staff are the salt of the earth--they really, really care. They greet you nicely and if you ask the residents about the care and conditions, they all say they like it there. Many other places may be newer or look nicer, but the bottom line is "how is my parent being treated?". You always worry and wonder if they need something, will they be yelling for help and no one comes. Not at this place. I was stunned to see how he was treated at the hospital. The nurses were unconcerned--it was just their job and they couldn't wait to finish their shift. At Northridge Care, they not only know the names of the patients, but they know the family members too. You can call and ask for the same nurse--novel idea! If you have lived through the nightmare of having a different nurse at a different shift caring for your loved one, you will know why this is so important. This place has exceptional management and when problems occur, they respond immediately. I highly recommend them!

The staff were very helpful and the center made my mother admissions very easy to get in while several others expecting us to jump through hoops at a difficult time of our lives. The facility is competing to other snobbish center.
The LVN's are kind and caring and seemed to be running the show. They provided most of the care for my mother during her 5 months dtay. My mother always was clean, well fed, well taken cared of.
When I couldn't take care of my mother, any more, the facility and the wonderful staff providing care for my mother and forever, I'm grateful for thier services.

I have no care for this place. Been here going on 6 months and if you find an English speaking person who cares about their people good luck all the nurses here can only thing about that brake they get at 9 when they come in at 6am.At night it's a race to who gets out of here on time. Very unprofessional patients have to deal with no care because of the way they behave. You deal with their home life. They pack it to work with them. When I was a nurse I would for go the brake to take my people what ever they needed took care of them like they were gold.

I'm only putting 1 star because I have to. If I could put negative stars on Yelp, I would for this review. Nearly every time I visited my father in the nursing home, I would see call lights going off up and down the halls. There did not seem to me to be a sense of urgency amongst the CNA’s and nurses. One time in particular my father needed assistance and I literally had to walk up and down every hall until I found one nurse on the other side of the building. I asked her where is everyone? Why can’t I find anyone to help my father? She said they were all on break. For a facility with patients who mostly cannot help themselves and are mostly disabled, breaking the majority of your staff at the same time does not make sense! My father complained of long wait times in response to the call bell constantly.
We were in constant communication with the administrator. She and the staff knew who we were because we went there each week. However when it came down to it, it was my impression that we were just told what we wanted to hear, but did not observe any follow through. I felt like she was picking and choosing what she wanted to tell us and not what we actually needed to know.
On more than one occasion, I personally witnessed staff members sleeping on the job and texting on their cell phones while call lights were going off up and down the halls. One night I witnessed my father’s roommate being neglected. He was a very elderly man who was blind and disabled. He kept saying out loud “I am hungry! I am hungry!” The CNA didn’t want to feed him until I insisted that he be fed.
I would not recommend Northridge Care Center for anyone’s family or loved ones. I know we sometimes have to make the extraordinarily difficult decision of how to care for our loved ones. You must be an advocate for your loved ones - especially those that are too old or sick to be an advocate for themselves!
