If you’re of the enlisted ranks and grew up in an old barracks with no air conditioning, you’ve come to the right place. I honestly got a good laugh out of staying here. The old barracks smell hits you like a brick wall, the carpet stains with the old furniture are textbook barracks vibes, out of order elevators are spot on, and the key cards that barely work will have you reminisce about lowly enlisted BEQ life. Being able to hear my fellow servicemen through the extremely thin walls is also convenient so I know they’re safe and sound throughout the night. Definitely a trip down memory lane now that I’m 10 years in and senior enlisted.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!. This was my favorite TAD spot over 25 years….until now. To be clear…the staff, front desk, cleaning people…as always top notch. But hotel management has left this place in ruins. I’ve been here two months…only one elevator works…and for two days no elevator worked. Washing machines on multiple floors are broken with signs saying ETR (31 Jan 25). Oh..if you want heat…you have to operate the radiator valve in your room. It’s February 16th. Second elevator repair sign (in January) said repair by 31 Jan…Now they changed it to 31 March. DO NOT BOOK A TDY HERE. 100% the worst facilities I’ve stayed in for 25 years. Great disappointment that management didn’t take care of this place…or figure out how to maintain it. Amazing people work here…and are great…but management of this facility is a joke. It was so bad I sent an IG complaint against management.

NGIS Coronado is nice. We stayed in a suite on a 3 night combo business/vacation trip. The room was a little dated, but clean and comfortable. The ocean view was gorgeous. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and relaxing. The bed is comfortable. There's no air conditioning, but with the ocean breeze coming in through the screened balcony doors it wasn't needed. In the evenings we needed the extra blanket provided because it got quite cool. Fans were also in the rooms in case we needed them.
My only complaint is the low flow shower. Washing long thick hair is difficult with such little water pressure. But the shower was nice size and had a shelf to hold our things. Plenty of hot water too.

The staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered at any hotel in the U.S. The front desk staff is helpful and efficient at the check in/out process. The cleaning staff do a great job and were friendly too. Everyone made us feel welcome.

We would stay here again.

Not the worst NGIS I've stayed at! Obviously it's incredibly basic and built by and for the government, but at least it's close to the gate, so the walk to get an Uber isn't bad. And there's coffee every day, which surprisingly isn't true at every hotel. In the winter it's not too bad, and I didn't see any bugs.

The reason for 4 stars is that the staff, including the housekeepers, were all very friendly and helpful. I definitely wouldn't go out of your way to stay here since NAB is a bit isolated, but it's not too bad if you have to.

Hotel was decent. There is not air conditioning but the rooms come with portable fans. You can not beat the views from the upper levels. Amazing views of the Coronado Bridge, the Del and downtown San Diego.

We had a reservation for a week stay. At check in we were told that our hotel room had No working AC
We stayed one night its was absolutely horrible hit was hot, humid, the room was in really bad condition the furniture was falling apart. The carpet was disgusting, the walls had chipped paint. Everything smelled like mold not to mention we found bugs in the bathroom shower. Our military facility’s need to be better. Why would any military service member deserve these kind of conditions?
So disappointing.

It was a standard basic room setup. Small dresser with a TV. A desk with a lamp. Two nightstands next to the queen-sized bed. Concrete walls, so the noise from other units was loud at times. Not long into the night, though.
Overall decent. While I stayed there, the AC was broken in the whole building, so I slept with the balcony door open to cool down.
