Please don't come to this place!!!!!!!! There are no normal parking spots, and after waiting for more than a month since the start of my lease, they assigned my SUV to a stacker. Today, my car's frame got scratched by the side of the stacker, which didn't surprise me at all. During the first month, I had no choice but to park in the guest parking spots. I was even towed once because I couldn’t find any available spots after coming back late and chose to park in the area outside the garage entrance. I had parked there twice before without issue, but that day, when I came out the next morning, my car had disappeared! I later found out it had been towed by the towing company partnered with the apartment complex. They refused to cover the towing expenses and blamed me for parking in the wrong place. So where was I supposed to park without an assigned spot in the building?

All of these terrible issues stem from the management's delays and irresponsible behavior in dealing with residents after something happened. So be prepared and hope for the best for your wellbeing and luck, since the management team will leave you in a mess for sure.

So, if you plan on coming here, be prepared to fend for yourself and increase your vehicle insurance because it’s very likely your car will get scratched, towed, or damaged in some way. You won’t get a normal parking spot on the ground, only a stacker spot. One towing fee is $550, and scratches are just the beginning.

The things happened after I stayed here only for two months:
1. Got towed once.
2. Got scratched by the stacker.
3. Got scratched when parking in the narrow guest parking.
4. My lease term was changed from 11 to 12 months.

BTW, I've heard other residents mentioned that the apartment will likely to delete the bad review from the website through some deals with Google so please take a photo after seeing this post in case it disappeared like my car!!

1/25/2025- If your health, safety, and peace of mind are priorities, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Safety: Once while waiting for my Instacart delivery, I witnessed a man trying to force open a door near the parking garage that leads to the stairs. When he couldn’t get it open, he became very aggressive, yelling profanities and struggling with the handle until it eventually broke off. If he lived here, why not just use the latch? Or, if he forgot his phone, he could’ve gone to the front office for help. A maintenance worker saw the whole thing and seemed just as shocked, but I’m not sure if he ever reported it. The door handle is still MIA. My second concern arose when I noticed tape covering the latchbolt on several doors around the building, likely to allow easy access without using the latch. The same was done to the door leading to the study room on the 2nd floor. A few weeks later, I saw the latchbolt had been completely removed, leaving the door unlocked and accessible to anyone (see photo).

Water Quality: When I moved in, I had a full head of hair. Now, I’m leaving with less than 50% of it. I’m not sure what chemicals are in the water, but they’ve caused rashes, dryness, constant itching, and severe hair loss—none of which I’ve ever experienced before. It’s gotten so bad that I had to start buying bottled water in bulk just to avoid the tap. On top of that, I developed year-round allergies. At first, I thought they were seasonal, but after checking the vents, the cause became clear. Recently, I’ve been coughing nonstop, feeling like I’m choking, and struggling to breathe at times.

Communication: Don’t expect quick email responses. I asked multiple times for them to address noise issues with my upstairs neighbor, but never received a reply. Writing a review seems more effective—they at least acknowledge that. If you have issues, don’t count on quick follow-up or action. Instead of replying to my emails about the noise, the manager, Anu, came to my door to complain about my trash being out before 6 p.m., implying it caused the bad smell in the hallway. My trash only had bottles and wrapping paper for my upcoming move. Many others leave their trash out early everyday, so I don’t understand why I was singled out. I even saw other trash around the corner, the same day and time, but I doubt she addressed it with them. As of Saturday, 1/25 at 1:30 p.m., most residents have their trash out, but I don't see her at their doors? When I mentioned the noise issue again, she told me to call their "patrol unit." What patrol? Paw Patrol? I have lived here for 1.5 years and have yet to see patrol.

Mailroom: Packages are often stolen or opened—sometimes by neighbors. One evening, I saw a resident opening random packages from the shelves and taking pictures of them. Another time, a neighbor’s expensive bike was stolen, only for them to find out it was taken by someone on the 5th floor. The building is poorly constructed, with cracks, thin walls, and constant leaks in the garage. If your next-door neighbor closes their front door, your entire room, walls, everything shakes—especially if you have the barn door floor plan.

If you still plan to lease here thinking that this won’t happen to you, then good luck!

UPDATE: 12/7 :The management claimed that my “peace and tranquility” is a priority for them, but it’s hard to believe that when my neighbor continues her disruptive stomping routine. Just last night, she abruptly woke me up at 2:30 a.m., slammed her door, stomped around the living room, and repeated it again hours later. I woke up with heart palpitations, so intense that I honestly considered going to the ER, unsure if I was having a heart attack. This is how they supposedly “address” concerns about creating a “peaceful environment.” What they really mean is: “We don’t actually care, but here’s a nice response to make us look good to potential future tenants”

I withdrew my application to this apartment. During the past few weeks, I received slow response regarding my application and had to ask my boyfriend to call multiple times to check on the status. There’s no transparency with the rent concession. I’m also not satisfied with the fact that I received the lease 1 day before my actual move in day.

I have contacted a lot of apartments in the area with very fast response and transparency, and I decided to move forward with them.

I am writing this review as a resident who is living in MV apartments at the moment.

For reference, I've lived in Domus for 3 years, which I'm sure is managed by the same company. So far, I've lived in MV apartments for 4 months after we came back to CA.

I really like this area especially the great schools they provide, such as Santa Rita, Egan, etc..

The only concern I really have is how consistently we get fire alarms for false notification, such as the one we got the friday before last friday. It woke my family up from 12:00 to 1:30 AM. Also the digital locks sometimes doesn't work and some areas of the apartments are prohibited from using the phone to unlock for some reason and it's been like that ever since I got here.

However, it is a nice apartment and very dog friendly, and the neighbors are quite understanding.

The renewal is a headache. Previous manager just ghosted us for a month.

Initially we got +$800/month increase to previous rent. Fortunately new manager got us a better offer, with +$400/m increase.

If you compare to what new folks get:
If you are new - you get 2br for $4900/month,
if you already live here for several years, you pay $300 more - $5200/month.

Please don't rent here if you don't want to lose extra money.
I have been charged late fee when I pay the rent on time (The lease clearly states that the late charge starts from 5th day of each month, I pay it clearly before that each month). This happens on November 2024 and never happened before. The management also increase the late fee from $50 to $75 without notice.
The management also charges insurance automatically while I have my renter's insurance already, and my insurance coverage is way better than the management office's useless nano company's insurance.
I go to lobby everyday and haven't seen the manager for over 2 months.....Ridicules management ever!
Again, please don't come here, all the 1-Star reviews are TOTALLY TRUE! People don't lie but the management does.

My boyfriend and I stayed at MV Apartments for 2 years and we had a wonderful time. We lived there during a transfer of management from Greystar to Cushman Wakefield and we were relieved when Cushman Wakefield took over as the new management team was great. Kristelle and JC were always very warm and welcoming and we felt especially safe and in good hands with Kristelle as the building manager!

Many of the negative reviews (pre-2023) are from the prior management under Greystar, but we think there should be some credit given for the meaningful improvement after the transition to Cushman Wakefield.

Our main complaint was the very high prices/rental fees. If the prices were just a bit more in line with other rentals in Mountain View, that would have made the place perfect.

At the same time, we enjoyed all of the amenities that come with a new luxury development like MV. (Built in WiFi, jacuzzi and heated pool, 24 hr gym with high-end equipment, gated parking, brand new appliances/cabinetry, automated package system, daily trash pickup...)

If you may be comfortable with the price point, don't hesitate to live here as you'll have all your needs taken care of in a safe and welcoming residential community.

I moved out of the partment around 1 month ago and while I was waiting to get my $500 deposit check I got an email that I should pay additional $192! I left the apartment in a very clean condition with no damage to the apartment. I have taken photos when I moved-in and moved out as well as saved screenshot of the move-in form.
