This review is from 2024 October room 2A. The bed was queen size and more comfortable than many hotel beds had a nice mattress topper on it. The rooms are small oddly the bathrooms are quite large kind of weird the way the space is allocated. Rooms were clean shower was recently redone The heaters one of those funky wall heaters that kind of creaks and groans at night not too bad. You will hear the trucks go by on highway 395 but that's not that bad.

It was great. I called the counter when I arrived late and told me her location attentively. When I asked if any restaurants were open, she offered me food. Very considerate.

We were looking for a cheap, decent place to stay after three nights camping and didn't want to shell out $150+ for one night. We walked into this hotel and were greeted by the elderly couple sitting outside. I didn't know that the office is only open from 4pm-8pm, and feel lucky to have found this place. The young lady showed us a King room first, which we took, but later had to move out because the shower wasn't working. There was no air conditioning, but we didn't need it, weather was beautiful outside. It is conveniently located near the visitors center and our favorite restaurant in town. Friendly people and a good price... We'll be back again!

This little place doesn't look like much, it's dated and shabby, but the perfect kind of place if the hot springs and fishing spots bring you up north. They DO NOT take reservations! You have to arrive by noon or 1 pm and the rooms are assigned on a first come first served basis. The family staff do what they can to make your stay comfortable. We requested the room with a kitchenette. It was cozy and clean and affordable. It is a convenient location to Mono Lake, Mammoth and several local primitive hot springs like Wild Willy's and Buckeye. Good times.

We arrived in this vacation town with no reservation, and we were filled with apprehension about finding available rooms and high prices. The Lee Vining Motel looked like the rates couldn't be very high so I checked it out. The office used to be a gas station, ceiling tiles were missing here and there but Lynn was nice and showed me the rooms, which were decent. The owner is trying to keep up the place, and she started by installing new carpeting and wood floors. There is no a/c in the rooms, but the nights are cool up here at over 6-7000 ft. But if you leave the windows open for the cool breeze you will hear every car and truck that passes by. ||||Rates at the Lee Vining Motel are the lowest in town. No pets here, which was fine with me, no coffee makers in the room, no free breakfast and the ice machine was inoperative. It was a cheap place to sleep. If that's what you're looking for, this motel is for you.

Stayed here one night recently. You know "that little voice..." that you should always trust and act on? When I entered the "office" I was immediately on guard, seemed like a makeshift deal and very messy, including the people working there. I asked to see a room first before booking one. It was what I expected, very spartan simple cheap motel room. Soft bed, wall heater, shower, TV, not much else nor much room. That was fine for me though. I did not however pull back the bed covers / sheets to take a look before booking (I will do this in the future). I booked the room, when I went to go to bed later, after the office was vacant and closed, I saw them... The little black hairs (Yuck!). Decided to take a shower, then sleep in my sleeping bag in the hotel room. Demand and inspection and cleanliness if you have to stay here. On road trips in the Eastern Sierra I think it is best to camp, avoid the dives. This hotel, like most in Lee Vining, is right on the highway, so you will hear traffic all night long.

With campgrounds full-up for holiday weekend and several of the better rated hotels in town already posting their "No Vacancy" signs, we pulled in here out of desperation. I was pretty much just grateful to have a bed for the night, and that they didn't seem to be price-gouging desperate travelers.||||Pro's: An inexpensive bed to sleep in. Clean. Quiet. Fast, friendly check-in. Non-smoking. Walkable to everywhere in town. Right behind awesome coffee shop (Latte Da in El Mono hotel). ||Cons: No A/C. No deadbolt on door. Super bare bones. I would not stay here more than 1 night. Did not even attempt to gauge internet situation. Did not even attempt to shower.
