Lake Davis Resort - Portola, California

I've gone to this resort with my wife and three stepdaughters and in the winter time to go sledding and plan the snow and enjoy the weekend in a cabin. They went out of their way completely to make a sledding hill for the kids to play on they use their backhoe they didn't have to do it but they did and they did an amazing job the service is outstanding the rates are completely reasonable would highly recommend if you want a nice quiet getaway for the weekend or the week whatever summertime wintertime anytime... I'm looking to book again to go back 1000% satisfied. Thanks again....

Lake Davis resort.. I don't think I would classify it as a resort. It's more of a motel with some cabins. When we first got her I guess we ended up getting a motel room. We thought we got a cabin but probably just a mistake on are part. We asked if the was a way we could get one. The lady was just like no in a rude voice. Are room was nice, right next to the office though.

Plenty of heaters, one of them Broke though.
A little bit too much appliances. There was like 20 different fans. Kinda jank. Oh and the laundry bin was the trash can. 😅. Also the step to the outside was dangerous. They just used a rug to cover the cracking concrete. Um

Anyway it was an ok room.
Had a good time at the lake.
Had a nice time there, may go back!

My daughter was attending camp in a nearby town and since it's a half-day's drive from where I live, I decided to drive up the nights both before I dropped her and when picked her up. So, I was able to stay at Lake Davis Resort twice in one week! The first time I stayed, my husband and I booked a cabin (Doe). I thought that the cabin was right on the lake when I originally booked, but it's a short walk away (about 10 min). The cabin had everything you needed (kitchen supplies, box fans when it got warm, extra blankets/pillows/etc.). It was super cozy, too. The bed and sheets were especially comfy! My daughter tried to take a nap on the couch, but it wasn't the most comfy for sleeping, so you might want to get an air mattress if there are more than 2 staying at the cabin. For my next stay, I was in the motel room by myself. Again, everything you could need was provided (coffee pot, creamer, sugar, extra towels, microwave, even a teapot!) and the bed/sheets were very comfy. I slept great! There was plenty of space and you can tell they take cleanliness very seriously (so do I!) The motel isn't as private as the cabins, but still a very lovely stay. There isn't a lot to do around there beyond the gorgeous lake, but that's sorta the point. I would definitely stay here again should I travel up to Portola area again. Thank you, Susan at LDR!

All I can say is we will be back for sure !!!! The rooms were clean and look fairly recently remodeled. The owner/manager was for nice and helpful with any needs or requests. The location was a stones throw from the lake JJ general store and plenty of parking along with a fire pit and gathering area for the guests. The only complaint we had was the bugs and guessing there had been a recent hatch or something because they were out of control but other than that it was great and we plan to come back again and maybe stay in one of the Cabins.

Very nice accommodation. Very clean, updated and had everything we needed for a great visit to Lake Davis Recreation area. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because it didn't have air conditioning. But we knew that when we booked and with the fan provided and quiet setting we just opened the windows in the evening and it was perfect! We had a standard king bed motel room. We will go back and highly recommend this place.

Great "resort" for a small town, no amenities but less than 5 minutes to Lake Davis! Loved that we were able to stay so close to our family! We had a party of 7 and decided to stay in the 2bdrm motel suite. It was very accommodating for a big group and has a private patio! Pull out sofabed could use a new mattress but other than that we had a wonderful stay! Thank you and we'll be back next year to rent a cabin!

The cabin was beautiful and exactly what we were hoping for!! It provides all of the amenities of home while giving us an incredibly relaxing atmosphere.
The cabin was in a great location to easily access the lake and to a local shopping for those forgotten items everyone forgets.
We did have a surprise visit by a bear, a deer and a mountain lion. This was truly a trip we will never forget.
We are already planning to visit again next summer, or sooner!!

The property owners did an amazing job at accommodating my group. Not only was our cabin clean and well stocked with amenities, but as a snowstorm hit, the owners checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. They even helped get our vehicle out of the snow as it was buried. We look forward to another stay
