When you let it all soak in and settle. You realize that this place is a different. Sit by the Moroccan or Med pools and it feels great. It’s a rustic cultural sophistication. The things that matter; the bed, sheets, breakfast , calm, crushed rock paths, blue Turkish table cloths and lavender sprigs, candles, did I mention calm?, yeah calm. Each room different, each room charming in a perfectly not perfect way. This place has soul and character and if you don’t see it and feel it, well, then, the four seasons is down the road. Kudos and warm feels for the Korakia. Try it. Your inner spirit will rejoice.

My husband and I just returned from four perfect days at the Korakia. The property transports you to a Morrocan oasis once you walk into the Mediterreanean styled courtyard. This is where you'll enjoy a tasty breakfast each morning (included in the price). Keep going and you'll be at the quiet pool area with its warm salt-water pool. We swam there every morning to get our muscles loose for a day of hiking, biking (they have free bikes you can borrow) and walking through downtown -- just 3 blocks away. ||We stayed in the Artists Suite which was comfortable and spacious. The bed was comfy (although a bit high and I had to jump up to get in!) It had a small kitchenette although we never ate in the room. Note that many of the standard rooms are on the small side. I looked at a few and they each have their own charms -- but if you need a bit more elbow room, you might want to book a suite. ||Best of all, the staff are so welcoming and accommodating. They will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. ||This is not the place to stay if you're looking for a hopping, nightlife scene. But if you appreciate a non-corporate, laid-back, beautifully landscaped exterior in an intimate historic setting, Korakia might just be what you're looking for. We hope to visit again!

My wife and I found the Korakia serendipitously two years ago and now make it a "must-do" each year. It is a fabulous find and it made a quick Palm Springs trip, just to say we've been there, into a yearly indulgence. The service is classy and attentive, the ambiance is peaceful and serene, the neighborhood is friendly and easy to get around (downtown strip is two blocks away and easily walked to). The rooms are precious and once outside you are in a private garden setting with waterfalls, fountains and more flowers than you can count. At night it turns into a mystical place with literally hundreds of candles, lanterns and gas firplaces going. The pool is very warm, no cold water here. And of course, the breakfast, which is include, is simple but very nice. Parking is free and ample. Grab a free bike and explore, sit and relax in the ambiance of tranquility or walk downtown where there are great little boutiques and great eateries. 5-star all the way. Will be back next year.

I stayed in the Moroccan-inspired part, and had a great exerience: spacious suite with kitchen and small balcony, books to read and games to play, yoga mats and a record player with a choice of vintage vinyls, little gifts during our stay with some poetry attached, heated pool, great breakfast with different choices every day. A great stay all around

I had a rough stay at Korakia.||I booked through Expedia, this is the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in. My first solo trip after a divorce although I've traveled solo my whole life, all over the world. ||I arrived FROM THE BUS at 3:00, tired, and excited to be in Palm Springs, I walked from the bus stop with my heavy bags, it's the way I roll. When I arrived at 3:00 I was told my room wasn't available. Seriously? At 3:00? Come on, for a luxury hotel and a tired customer. I'm sure it's because I booked through Expedia that she wouldn't let me in, which is really too bad, you'll find our reviews count the same as anyone else. ||When I came back later the room was pretty, but useless. My suggestion is you should sleep in your rooms. Because you would have seen how uncomfortable it is - I cannot be the only one who has complained. The light from the Christmas lights shines right through the bedroom. Making it daylight inside (oh we could have turned those off says your front desk girl, oh yeah, at midnight? After I'm so tired and didn't notice it until I turned the lights off?) and something was vibrating every ten minutes. Like a washer on rinse. Over and over, it was so loud the whole room vibrated. How does anyone sleep through that? ||It was also cold and had no heat? That bathroom and its floor were so uncomfortable and freezing in there. ||That was honestly one of the worst nights I have ever spent. One of those nights where you hold on till the sun comes up. I couldn't wait to get out of that room. And it was Christmas day. How awful. ||It was an unpleasant few days and I hope to spare someone else from staying in that room another night. I learned a valuable lesson about value at Korakia, that's for sure. ||Margaret
