Ok, who's paying these people for their reviews. My review is not paid for and straight to the point. My brother has been at this location for 2 months now. I flew into LA from WA state to investigate this property. Here is my assessment. I think the facility has both positive and negative attributes. On the positive side, the staff is overall friendly unless you have a different point of view from them. The staff worked to keep the rooms clean. (While i was there) My brother has a good room and roommate. They tried to move him to a different room at the back of the facility. I steadfastly disagreed and brought in a Dr's note to back me up. That turned into a semi-heated discussion. But fortunately they canceled the move, and we were able to move forward. I have a full medical POA and requested in writing his medical files at the beginning of the week I was there. I haven't received that information as of yet or a good reason why. I requested information about contacting the parent company PACS in Utah for explanation. I was refused that information as well. Although I am not experienced with nursing care facilities, this was quite an eye-opening experience for me. The parent company is not accessible unless thru facility personnel. No direct contact. My question is, WHY? The company is getting paid. Why can't I address my concerns with upper level management. My last bit of advice... if you have a loved one in a nursing care facility and you have the means. Hire a private nursing aid. That's what I did, and in my opinion, it is worth every penny. That way, you can have a second set of eyes on your loved one. If not, at least try to stop by and check in on your loved one so you can advocate for them. Take lots of pictures and document anything that may seem questionable. If your loved one needs PT and is on Medicare. Standard PT is only available 3 days a week for 40 minutes per session. There again, private PT care might be considered if the patient needs additional therapy. Please, whatever facility you may be at, pay close attention to the surroundings and care of the patients, it can make a difference. And a final note if the patient has any valuables ie... watch, wallet, jewelry, etc. Take them out of the facility ASAP. My brother had his 5 month old iWatch disappear while he was there. I am still waiting for reimbursement from the parent company PACS. My brother can answer phone calls on his watch but not his phone. I lost a valuable form of communication with my brother. Not a good situation ?

The residents are consistently cheerful, reflecting the excellent care they receive. The building is beautifully maintained, clean, and pleasantly fragrant. The rooms are spacious, and the activities offered are engaging and well-organized.

I am the Director of Business Development at Kennedy Care Center. I’ve been here since January of 2023 and I wholeheartedly recommend my facility for your father, mother, grandparent or loved one. Let me start with all the changes this facility has gone through. (Although some of the reviews are alarming, a lot of them are biased.)

Nursing: We take pride in wanting the best nursing staff. Nurses are the backbone of this facility and we just want the best nurses for your loved one. Sometimes that comes with high turnover. Kennedy is fortunate to have a full staff and working everyday to show our appreciation! We offer so many services such as: Q8/12/24 IV antibiotics, complex wounds, memory care and so much more.

Rehab: This sounds biased, but we truly do have the best rehab. I have NEVER heard anyone say otherwise. I’m sure our partnered hospitals can say the same. We offer Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy. We have about 12-15 therapist on-site Monday-Sunday!

I can’t promise you the most incredible experience in the world because everyone has different expectations. However, I can promise you that I will be there for your loved one every step of the way.

The Kennedy Care Center was clean, atmospheric environment was clear of offensive orders, fresh looking sheets on her bed, and the linen was free of any stains. The staff was attentive to my friend I was visiting. Even though my friend didn't want to be there, however, she expressed her day had been a good one. She was in a room that housed three people. She lives alone, and is used to the peace and quiet of solitary life. There was a staff person, title unknown, that came in and applied ointment to a sore on her heel. She said, He had got it healing better. He left to find a pillow to prop up her legs to get the pressure off. It was a concern she had, and I got to see someone seeking to resolve her concern and relieve her discomfort and pain. Security is visible at the center of who enters, and visitors make a written claim they are not sick and haven't been at the past 14 days. Well run place.

Went into this facility and a staff member by the name of Jasmin was very helpful when it came to informing me about the admitting process. I really loved and appreciated the tour bag she gave me . Staff is very friendly and answered all my questions! When i went in, residents were making pancakes in the activity room which was great to see !! Will be recommending this facility for people to get into for care.

The admissions girl Jasmin was very helpful when it came to explaining the process of admitting my family member . She toured me around and the facility is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious compared to other facilities! Nurses had a smile on their face which made me feel like Kennedy is the right choice.

Yesterday was the first time I visited my loved one at the Kennedy Care center and I was quite happy with the facilities and the treatment that my mother was receiving. She was in good spirits and they seem to be taken very good care of her. The physical rehab she's been receiving has made a huge difference in her confidence to get back some of the physical attributes that she lost. Thank you Kennedy Care center.

CANHR explains the rights of patients and how SNFs commit false imprisonment. Seems like they followed their directions to a T... (False imprisonment is a crime).

Awful facility. The staff is extremely rude and obnoxious, and they discriminate against me as well. My grandpa got a cut on his head that was treated with stitches at Cedars Sinai. After hospitalization my grandpa and I wanted him to go home but they put him in this nursing home because he supposedly couldn't walk and needed to recover from his hospital stay. However, this was patently untrue. He could walk just fine (I saw him). Furthermore, my grandpa's injury was treated in one day and he could've returned home from cedars the next day. However, they kept him here for no reason (they were simply using him to make money) for 7 weeks. Furthermore, his treatment didn't do him any good--he couldn't walk when he returned home either (and on the day of his release he was so weak that they couldn't even lift him out of bed). In other words, putting him in Kennedy Care Center didn't help him. Furthermore, they would not let me take my grandfather home AMA even though I have General POA, and they wouldn't disclose any medical information to me. This is discrimination because my father and I have equal rights and powers, but Irina said that my father is the primary decision maker because he is supposedly a closer relative (he may be closer biologically, but I lived with him much longer). Not only did they not let me (or my grandfather) make any decisions, but they also refused to give out any information to me... In sum, this place is a prison where they lock people up and use them to make money. (They kept my grandfather here against his will for three months before and refused to let him go when his doctor discharged him (Irina initially denied that he was discharged, and later they said that the Adult Protective Services intervened and refused to release him). Be careful, this is an unscrupulous business: the caregivers here do nothing useful (if anything, his condition worsened after rehab) and they will also lie, cheat and deceive to keep the patient as long as possible

P.S. Medical advice notwithstanding, it was obvious that my grandpa would've been better off at home. Nevertheless, Monica was very pushy about keeping him and refused to let him go without my dad's consent... (Also, medical advice is just that--advice. In other words, it's not something that should be overestimated or taken as gospel).

1) I was able to take him home from Cedars Sinai using my POA but here they ignored my requests and wouldn't let him leave.
2) Prior to arriving in the hospital, he could walk around without any assistance. After post-acute care he was in a wheelchair.
3) I showed Irina my POA and she even photocopied it. But they still treated me like I didn't have it.
4) He was here twice. The first time he was here, he fell in the street and couldn't walk so he went here to recover... But they still kept him an extra month after he was discharged and ambulatory.
5) The first time he was here, he was declared incompetent (which he wasn't). Also, at the time, I visited his doctor and watched him discharge the patient from his office. As soon as I went in here however, they denied that he was discharged.
6) They have to keep their beds filled for payment but keeping people for profit is false imprisonment.
(7) In sum, they didn't let the patient leave and forced him to stay and to undergo unnecessary treatment so that they could bill Medicare.

Overall, Kennedy center has been nothing but hostile, threatening and aggressive (with me). Indeed, their attitude towards me is basically threefold: we don't have to talk to you, we don't have to listen to you and you can't take your grandfather home or we'll call the police... Twice he was here and both times I couldn't take him home. Not with my POA and not when he was discharged by his doctor and I was told that I could come pick him up. This is not a good place.
