My husband and I just returned from the most wonderful week at the Katmai Wilderness Lodge. Angela and Perry were the most perfect hosts, as well as Nancy and Ian. Come prepared to learn about Katmai and all things Kukak Bay because Perry is the most amazing storyteller with such vast knowledge about the park and the surrounding bays. I could listen to his and Angela’s stories all day, seriously.

The accommodations were great considering how remote the area is. We were very comfortable and thought it was perfect. We felt like we were catered to our every need. Tom prepared some of the most amazing meals. We’re still talking about the crab cakes and the ribs (and how they were used for lunch the next day!!!). This was certainly a highlight for us.

And then the bears!!! And other wildlife! There was so much to see. Bears, baby bears!, eagles, baby eagles, foxes, otters, porcupines, salmon. It was incredible. Ethan and Ian as guides were spectacular. Not only were they informative but they did a great job at making sure everyone was safe.

This was one of our best vacations yet. The adventure, the calm, everything was fantastic. We can’t wait to return to Katmai.
