If you're looking for the perfect new addition to your home, look no further than High Sierra Animal Rescue! We looked at several other shelters and in the pet finder app for months before we found our baby boy Axel. High Sierra Animal Rescue does a PHENOMENAL job at making sure the animals are extremely adoptable with mental and physical stimulation as well as fully socializing them with people and other animals. They provide training with commands as well as crate training. I was so impressed by their facility as well. They let you spend time with the animals in an outdoor and indoor setting, which I hadn't previously seen at any other shelter and very much appreciated as it have us a better idea of how the animals would be in a home. I have nothing but good things to say about High Sierra Animal Rescue! Please check them out if you're looking for a new family member!

Extremely friendly staff, they seem to treat the animals very well, and they do a fairly rigorous check of the perspective adopting parents. the adoption fee seemed a little high, but they do all of the requisite spaying / neutering, microchipping, and bringing shots up to current. I've been dealing with Sydney, and she's extremely helpful as far as letting us see dogs that are still in quarantine, as long as we only look at them from a distance and don't try and touch them. This is the way that we found our potential next dog! Update, 11-19-18. Potential no longer, now a member of the family. They were absolutely wonderful to work with.

These folks really know about each dog that was in the shelter and seemed to love all of them.

I volunteer here and know that the dogs are very well taken care of by the hard working staff. Please consider adopting from here. I don't have a dog now but hope to in the near future =)
