The rooms would be considered small if it were a hotel but as transient lodging facility for active duty military on orders to Camp Pendleton it is perfect. No more then you need for a few days or weeks while attending training. The facility has computers amd printers if needed, a pretty good complimentary breakfast with a decent spread but more importantly early hours. There is a small conference space with room for about 40 or 50 people comfortably. The availability of parking is more than adequate. The staff is always polite, friendly, and more then helpful in answering any questions you have about the base or where to eat.

So far after two weeks of Living here. I would say the location and price of this place is pretty good.

If you get a room past 10.. So 101-110 is on the ocean side view. If you have higher, then your room will be hot.

The room itself is pretty tiny which is kind of annoying. They have a common room to share with strangers if that works for you which has a small table, coffee table, chair and couch. I am not a fan of this concept since I like to work from a desk and have the TV on in the background.

The key information you want to know is the WiFi. I'd rate it 0.5 / 5. It exist, but you can't really do anything. You are better off tethering to your phone to accomplish tasks. If you need to, try to connect and download what you need if you can and tether to do regular functions. If you need Data, but a phone/Sim card with data for relatively cheap.

This place is really close to a beach and ocean side is pretty close, so you have two beaches nearby. There is a gym near the camp pendleton beach as well.

The room has no air conditioning but the single fan should be sufficient unless you are on the no wind side. Then it's just annoying and bearable.

The TV doesn't work well for cable since the receiver is behind the TV Stand but it does have some good channels. HBO and some movie channels.

The rooms to get tidy up which is really nice. If you don't do much and don't require your room touched then just put Do not disturb sign on door. There is a safe in the room if you are paranoid or keep high valued items around.

Facility needs a lot of overdue improvements, but the staff super friendly and accommodating. Beds are doubles (small for 2!), portable AC units super loud, bathroom looks and feels like an small old barracks bathroom (which it is). The location is great, nice views. Common areas fairly comfy, but also need updating. Keurig coffee available 24hrs nice. Our USMC daughter planned wedding and reception on Del Mar beach, but due to unexpected rain, we were generously permitted to use the conference area - most grateful!!! Facility has potential to be nicer, but only with lots of renovation and cleanup.

Overall my stay in this place was pleasant. Affordable pricing in comparison to hotels in the surrounding area. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean, and the amenities were good. A staff member by the name Maria was specially welcoming and highly effective at her job. She works at the front desk. She displays a level of care equally to what you can consider receiving from a family member.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews. Is this a Marriot or a Hilton? No. However, our room was clean, yes there was hot water, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is comparable to a Motel 6, just without the shadiness and sh*tty area. There’s a nice large Rec room and a nice outdoor patio are with views of the marina. Bottom line: for $100 per night and safety and security of staying on base I would definitely stay here again.

This is the worst transient housing in the Marine Corps. The fact that a shared room is only $37 cheaper than the luxurious rooms at Pacific Views is an absolute sham. Don’t even ask for a suite or studio, because they are never available, regardless of rank. The shared ‘living area’ rooms means there is no desk or even a chair in your room to conduct official business. The rooms themselves are egregious. The 3 pillows are 12x12’ pieces of cotton from 1979. The portable AC unit by your head makes it near impossible to sleep based on the noise and inability to maintain a cool temperature. The curtains do an incredibly poor job of blocking out the obnoxiously bright hall lights ans your head is a mere 3ft away from heavy foot traffic that’s easily heard based on the fact the window must be open for the window AC unit. The bathrooms are worse than prison showers and do not regulate water temperature at all. “Breakfast” is a joke. Pay the $37 out of pocket if you have to and stay at Pacific Views or Ward Lodge, money well spent. MCIWEST should be ashamed of these facilities.

This facility is the reason Marines don’t like to stay in transient quarters. This place has not been updated since God knows when. The towels were oLd, hard, scratchy, and thin. They give you a hand towel as a drying towel. The only saving Grace is the customer service. Stay away if you want a comfortable stay.
