I stayed and worked the front desk from 2/1993-1994 when I bought a Sailboat ⛵️ and moved onto it at Oyster Cove Marina. All we had to deal with then was Roaches. I kept the bathroom and showers clean. It did not take much effort. It is a shame that they don't have a front desk person 24hr/7days a week. I did 8 hour night shifts while working full-time during the day and worked the desk weekends. COVID-19 is over time to man that desk and take care of your guest. I enjoyed the people and the food and loved the location. My room was on the top floor, and I could grill on the rooftop. I hope the new owners will get rid of the bed bugs. Tenants file complaints with SF Health Department.

I stayed there for a few.months in 1978 and it was roach infested! We stayed in room 23 and it was one of the many places that welfare would pay for to put us up. But the manager (Paul) was very nice 👍

As cheap as u will find in sf, just be prepared to clean up yourself the staff is good it's the company that runs this place that sucks , freaking slumlords, they give the staff. A bottle of bleach and some rags and 1 nasty mop to clean with. I wish some judge would make them live for a weak in the very worst bug infested room that they rent out for 645-1000$ a month

I loved the staff and the few residents I met. I also love north beach-- so much nicer than the tenderloin. My one issue was the bedbugs. I don't know where they were coming from but they kept coming. I killed one this morning as I was checking out.

Been living here for over 10years now.
The building just got sold to a new company not to long ago.
The management and owner are soooo cheap. It's pretty sad. We have the lowest quality toilet paper (1/2 ply)
We still have bedbugs, mice, and roaches in this hotel, less cleaning service, no more free hotel amenities (such as soaps for the shower or weekly fresh towels)
More than half of the showers and 2bathrooms have been out of service for over a year, yet they keep renting to more people making it crowded and more unhygienic than it actually is..... all while cutting down half the days janitorial work yet not allowing us to have visitors because of "Covid" yet they keep renting to more people. Backwards thinking

Not to mention the property manager never wants to actually be at the desk working. He stays in his room all day and gets mad when we complain our mail goes missing [due to his absence at the desk]
