My niece had her wedding at the venue. It was a beautiful venue! The house and grounds are nestled in a tiny quaint old town. The house is lovely with a very generous wrap around porch. We stayed overnight before the wedding while others stayed after the wedding. The screened in back upper porch looked over the pond , gardens and woods. Charming house, great owners, original art, tranquil charm galore. I can see lots of possibilities for events, art retreats of decompressing from a busy life.

What a fantastic B & B. Edward and Cynzia are your hosts and you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. They greet you and give you a tour of their beautiful property. The home is gorgeous filled with period pieces and Cynzia’s art (some is for sale, by the way). Only four rooms and each has its own bath. The gardens are a show piece with flowers, open spaces and their own vegetable garden. They are in the midst of renovating a barn on the property to complement events held on the property. Edward’s culinary ski;s are outstanding: breakfast is very nice but, by reservation, he will also serve you an outstanding dinner for a modest cost. Convenient to Athens (30 to 45 minutes away) depending on where you might be going). It is an understatement to say we enjoyed our stay and enthusiastically recommend The Gillen House.

The Gillen House was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. The house is charming and we loved seeing all of the art. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved walking through the garden and having coffee on the porches and by the pond.
Cynzia and Edward are very friendly and accommodating hosts. They gave us recommendations for things to do in the area and made us a lovely picnic basket. Edward is a great cook - dinner and breakfast were delicious!
We also loved spending time with the cats (they aren’t allowed in the bedrooms). Such personalities. 🙂
We’ll definitely be back.

Gillen House B&B was an excellent choice for attending our Son’s Graduation. Edward and Cynzia are delightful hosts and have thought of every detail to maje our stay wonderful. There beautiful home is very comfortable and spacious and the grounds are breathtaking.|Our accommodations were very comfortable and peaceful. We have already made another reservation for the fall and as soon as next years reservations open up we will book again.

The innkeepers are wonderful hosts. The inn is clean, safe, and secure. The chef is excellent! Edward and Cynzia really made us feel like family. They pay attention to the smallest of details, and that commitment showed in the quality of our stay. We highly recommend them to anyone traveling through the Athens area. We hope to see them again on a future trip.

The Gillen House Bed and Breakfast was everything we hoped for in a wedding venue. The property is absolutely beautiful, and its peaceful setting made it feel special from the moment we arrived. Staying in the bridal suite the night before and getting ready in the main house made the day feel seamless. The built-in bar inside a converted barn shed was a charming touch that made our cocktail hour even more memorable. The outdoor ceremony in front of the forest, with the wildflower meadow in the background, was stunning and exactly what we envisioned. The backyard was perfect for our tented reception, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and unique the venue was. The Gillen House exceeded our expectations and gave us a wedding day we’ll always treasure. If you’re planning a wedding, I can’t imagine a better place to celebrate such a special occasion.

Not much to add that hasn't been said already. Edward and Cynzia are amazing hosts. Our stay was the result of my father-in-laws passing. Edward and Cynzia couldn't have been more caring, compassionate and patient with us as we navigated through this difficult time. The food was delicious and filling We experienced both a dinner as well as multiple breakfasts. The house and grounds are beautiful and clean. We look forward to staying here again.

A Wonderful Stay at Gillen House Bed & Breakfast

We recently stayed at the Gillen House Bed & Breakfast, and it was truly a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The property is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, with creative art sculptures that add a unique touch. Inside, the mix of classic and modern décor, high ceilings, and spacious rooms create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Everywhere you look, there’s art—thoughtfully placed and adding to the charm of the space. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and the modern bathrooms are a nice touch. The outdoor amenities make it easy to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.

One of the highlights of our stay was the food. Cocktails, dinner, and breakfast were all excellent, clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. But what really made our visit special was Cinzia and Edward, the wonderful hosts. They are warm, welcoming, and full of great stories that made us feel like old friends rather than guests.

It was a restful and enjoyable stay, and we left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. We highly recommend Gillen House B&B—it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
