We had a truly delightful stay. Each morning started with a warm breakfast, and the friendly staff was always ready to help. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of cozy spots around the property where you can relax by a fire. We stayed in the Gaige House King room, which had all the amenities we needed. Since it was a bit chilly outside, we especially appreciated the spacious jacuzzi tub in the room. While the room doesn’t have a fireplace, it does offer adjustable heating to keep comfortable in any weather.

The only thing that would have made our stay more memorable was a small acknowledgment of our wedding anniversary, which we noted when booking. Personal touches like that can make all the difference, especially in intimate venues. However, even without that, this place was truly wonderful. If you’re looking for a few days to unwind and lose track of time, Glen Ellen is perfect, and Gaige House is a fantastic choice.

First night back at a place my wife and I spent several big anniversaries in the past. So excited to arrive for our 34th anniversary. ||Disappointing is a word I never thought I’d use for the Gaige House based on our past 3-4 stays. Mildew in the shower, a gift of a cheap Spanish cava priced at $8.99 (I know I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth), spa covered in leaves and pine needles (had to scoop out by hand because the skimmer tool was filthy. Pool was the same - like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Cheap robes/slippers that an upscale Super 8 might offer. Reception cheese/wine was good (not great) and the room quite basic. I hope the breakfast is top notch like it’s been in the past. But already we’ve decided we’re not coming back. Sadly, a Holiday Inn or Hampton would be a better value - and cleaner. Four Sisters is the current owner) and needs to invest to get this place back to a gorgeous Sonoma/Glenn Ellen destination.

Went with my husband to celebrate our anniversary -- it was incredible! Enormous room that was more like a private cabin, with a small courtyard, luxurious bath/shower, private backyard, plenty of closet space and of course a magnificent king-sized bed. Very clean and comfortable. Conveniently located to plenty of wineries, but we actually spent all our time at the House -- lounging by the pool, soaking n the hot tub or just relaxing on the property. Delicious breakfast and complimentary wine and cheese in the early evening. Staff was friendly and helpful. A perfect way to relax and celebrate a milestone in our lives!

Fourth visit there in the last fifteen years, and I think our third extended stay in the last 5-6 years. We absolutely love this place. The pool area is always so relaxing. You want a chaise longue? Have at it. You want chairs in the shade around a gas fire pit? Got 'em. Feel like reading or napping in a high quality, rotating (gotta get out of that sun as it moves across the sky) daybed? Yep. ||As for the daily breakfast, be assured that it is NOT the half-foods you find at most hotels with complementary breakfasts. Trust me on that. We've never done the late afternoon wine and cheese reception, but that's because we're socially inept!||Rooms are fantastic. Great beds, lots of TV stations, superb internet, spacious bathrooms, etc. ||Two really good restaurants right down the road, and if you go past them to the bend in the road, you'll come to a French-owned bakery that makes pastries that are so airy and not-overly-sweet that you'll swear you're in Paris. ||Can't recommend this place enough.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Gaige House, which we booked very last minute for our honeymoon (our initial travel plans were upended by hurricanes in fall of 2024). Rachel and Pam at the front desk were extremely accommodating, upgrading us to a larger room and providing tons of helpful recommendations once they learned that we didn't have much planned for our trip since it was so last minute. The room was super comfortable and clean, the pool was so refreshing after a day of wine tasting and exploring Sonoma Valley, and we loved the proximity to downtown Glen Ellen (and lots of other local attractions within 15 minutes driving distance). The daily wine and cheese hour was such a treat, as well as the hot breakfast every morning. I could not recommend Gaige House enough for couples looking for a relaxing, laid back, quiet retreat to Northern CA. We will definitely be back!

We were thrilled with our stay here. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to the zen ryokan suite, which was luxurious. The saltwater pool was nicely shaded by trees and a lovely place to hang out. Fresh fruit throughout the stay was great, and we also received complementary sake and bubbly for a birthday. Walkable to a few restaurants and shops in Glen Ellen for the cherry on top. We’ll be coming back and recommending to friends.

I originally wrote my review based on an issue with an employee, but that has been resolved and I feel compelled to share that my wife and I really liked the room and property. It’s well maintained and had tasty food. It’s a great place for a romantic getaway.
