Zen peaceful and quiet. I watched hummingbirds frolic by the pool and was completely relaxed. The room was immaculate, well designed with multiple considerate touches: sparkling water, plenty of coffee, snacks and a robe. I loved this place. Easy walk to downtown and to the Art museum. I was able to stow my bags at the neighboring property and the amazing staff brought it over to my room. I loved this stay and would return again- for as long as possible!!

Great hotel! Don’t be afraid of the 2 stars, this is a wonderful experience. The staff was awesome and helped us store our bag when we arrived early, and gave us as an early check in as possible when they heard about our timing situation. It was a life saver! Rooms were clean and felt like stepping into a time capsule. The pool was clean and enjoyable to sit around and the grounds were beautiful with lots of lively birds. We would absolutely stay again.

Perfect location for walking to downtown Palm Springs as well, peaceful and neighborhood feeling. Very quiet and peaceful.

What a perfect place to spend Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms are decorated with a retro style. Bright and clean. Super comfy beds and a great patio to relax. It’s walking distance to the main area of downtown Palm Springs. Once you arrive you don’t need to drive anywhere.
All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful.
We will definitely stay here again.
Bonus! Adults only no kids running around the pool. 👍

Excellent location in Palm Springs, walking distance to many restaurants. It is a small, quiet, mid-century place. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff and management are professional and pleasant. There were a couple of minor things to be fixed, but with the planned renovations, this place will be perfect. We look forward to retuning again to Desert Hills. We had a small, basic room for the one night, but would consider booking another for a longer stay.

Absolutely the best! So relaxing by the pool. A great room and very comfortable bed. Nice little kitchen if you want to cook.

This property is right out of the late 1950s / early 1960s so it exudes a cool vibe.|Our king bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well (it was hot), and we walked easily into old downtown Palm Springs.|The bathroom was still a bit "vintage" but worked fine, and our room had a small kitchen, which makes 5 nights much more comfortable.|We could sit right outside our unit, plus there are quite a few chaise lounges to choose from. |There are "pool rules" that we appreciate, like no loud cell phone talking, and no music. Also no children, so it's a relaxing venue.

There are so many things to love about this hotel:
1. It's incredibly peaceful and central at the same time
2. The decore and furnishings in the large suites are exactly as advertised (mid-century modern) and very comfortable.
3. The self-check in (and out) is a breeze and we felt confident that the staff would be available if needed.
4. The complimentary drinks and snacks were a thoughtful and much appreciated touch.
5. The pool was heated and immaculate (we were there during a cold snap in January).
6. There was easy access to parking.
7. The rate was reasonable
Suffice it to say, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, elegant Palm Springs experience.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Desert Hills Hotel over the New Years holiday weekend. The check-in process was super easy, the location was excellent and the room was very nice and comfy. I loved the vintage vibes and the extra touches like the robes provided and the large California king bed which was soooooo nice to sleep in. The bathroom setup was great with the vanity. I honestly can’t imagine a better hotel experience except for the one downside which was that the jacuzzi was not functional - and it seems like from other reviews that it’s been inoperable for quite some time. Would definitely stay again when we are in Palm Springs.
