Most important, they have the knowledge and experience to handle custom installations precisely and effectively, providing the customer the highest level of satisfaction. Let me demonstrate this with our experience.

The highly skilled professionals at Decor provided an excellent product and superb service during our recent custom shower door purchase. From our beginning encounter with Vickie in the office, we were provided accurate and clear information and recommendations on the shower door system best suited to our needs. Office manager Mike offered further details, and he and Vickie arranged an appointment with the estimator, Billy.

Billy was efficient and effective in measuring our shower and using laser technology to develop a precise detail of the installation. As we wanted a frameless shower door, he spec’d brackets and other modifications to create a custom design. We placed our order with Mike and Vickie and were quoted a three to four week delivery time, as COVID has affected the supply stream. However, they noted that the time could be shorter, as production was ramping up.

And was it shorter! Only nine working days (thirteen calendar days) after our order, the shower door was delivered and fitted. Installers Tommy and Jake did a superb job. The door was a precise fit, mirroring Billy’s excellent template. It was so precise, no adjustment was necessary. We’d asked for a towel bar on the fixed glass panel, and it, as well as the other polished stainless steel hardware, was fabricated and installed beautifully. The manufacturer had left out a bracket from the shipment but Mike, who managed the process adroitly from order to installation, had planned ahead for such eventualities and had a supply of the needed part on hand; he drove it out to our home, and we didn’t lose a minute on the installation time.

As an extra option in our order, we asked Decor to drill holes in the Cambria Stone (quartz) shower walls for a grab bar and a handheld shower bar, and Tommy and Jake did a perfect job; the gear installed easily, with holes the perfect size (they recommended drilling a tad larger than recommended, and their advice was critical, since the manufacturer’s recommendation would have been too tight for the manufacturer-supplied stainless steel screws). Like the rest of our encounters with Decor, this highlighted the importance of experience and expertise, the kind you don’t get from a big box store staff. Sure, we could have bought an off-the-shelf unit, found someone to install it, and hoped for the best. But do you really want to risk damaging an expensive remodel or ending up with a shower enclosure that sort of fits? If you have a sense of quality, it’s worth the upgrade to Decor.

Decor recommended Diamond-Fusion coating for the glass doors, and Joe Grayson, owner of NorthBay Diamond-Fusion, installed the coating quickly and efficiently. It has been effective. We’ve had problems with Napa city water’s calcium staining previous shower doors, and the coating lets the shower water bead and run off the new doors, so with proper care (squeegeeing and wiping down the shower) we expect to avoid the past problems.

Throughout the process, every Decor staff member we worked with was professional, courteous, and obviously experienced and talented. They knew the products thoroughly, had installed many types and configurations of shower door systems, and were aware of possible pitfalls and how to avoid them. There’s no substitute for this kind of quality.
