What a wonderful place to stay if your are in the Tucson area. We loved it. The entire place is so unique in its decorations, super cool. It has a community kitchen and wonderful grounds to walk. We took advantage of the star gaziong experience which was a lot of fun.

My husband and I had a nice 2 night stay at the Cat Mountain Lodge and Roadside Inn in October 2024. It is conveniently located near the entrance to Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park. We stayed in the Old Mexico Room in the lodge and it had pretty much everything we needed. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the surroundings are just gorgeous (loved the courtyard garden). We enjoyed walking the trail and the labyrinth on the property. We unfortunately did not get to meet Juanita Wayne (the resident desert tortoise) because she had already begun her winter hibernation. Visitors should be aware that the restaurant onsite is now closed, but there are a couple of really good breakfast options close by (Hustle Bustle Cafe and the Bisbee Breakfast Club). My only recommendation to management would be to provide true room darkening drapes as the very bright light from the walkway outside bled in through the window blinds and disrupted my husband's sleep. We ended up putting towels over the window.

Incredible desert retreat. Cat Mountain Lodge is located a few miles south of Saguaro Nation Park and Sonora Desert Museum. We stayed in the Tiny House, literally in the Sonoran desert. Tiny House had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - living room, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Beautiful artwork in each room and throughout the entire estate. Also several naturally landscaped gardens with native plants, a labyrinth garden and desert trails. There are restaurants nearby, or prepare your own meals. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio in the evening and star gazing. Cat Mountain Lodge exceeded our expectations. A must visit, one of a kind desert retreat.

The Cat Mt. Lodge was the perfect retreat for celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. The room and bed were very comfortable and attractive and we loved sitting outside our room taking in the beauty and solitude of the well-kept courtyard featuring native plants and lots of birds. We also enjoyed walking the nature trail on the property and the amenities (coffee, tea, cookies) available in the lounge which happened to be adjacent to our room. A bonus is the AZ-Sonoran Desert Museum a short drive from the lodge. We highly recommend the lodge and will be back from time to time even though we live only a little over an hour away.

I reckon Cat Mountain Lodge is the best lodge we have ever stayed in since we started touring round America in 1999. We stayed in the Sierra Madre suite which was huge. All the little touches made it just adorable and so homely. When stayed mid week and had the lodge to ourselves. The lady on the front desk across the road in the inn, where you check in, was lovely. So helpful and thoughtful. You feel like you step back in time in the lodge and your mind just relaxes. We also did the star gazing which is onsite, which was fab. Its a lovely place to stay, so do yourselves a favour and stay there.

This amazing little Lodge and Inn greets you with pathways that lead you around the natural landscaped grounds full of an array of cacti, desert flowers, beautiful art and little surprises! The rooms are cute, clean, comfy beds and have everything you need. I was in the Lodge where they surround a cool, shaded, courtyard with dappled sunlight and a fountain you can hear fr your room! The people who work there are so friendly and accommodating. You could not ask for a better location - so close to all levels of hiking trails in Saguaro Park, Senora Desert Museum, picnic areas, & Old Tucson. There are restaurants nearby - nothing fancy, but decent food. When the on-site Cafe opens it will be great! There's a small gift shop and check out the beautiful gemstone jewelry across the street. Close enough from Tuscon for a day trip, but far enough that you can forget it's there and enjoy the stars and watch the sun rise and set over the desert hills.

We had a couple of nights here and stayed in the Davy Crockett room. An absolutely lovely room, very cosy and comfy. A door to the outside area which was lovely to sit out in the evening.|A kitchen area just across the hall with coffee making facilities, a fridge, cookies, seating area, plus local information.|Would absolutely recommend this place to stay, an absolute gem!

This was our second stay. A bird watchers' paradise! We love the nature trail out back. Got 2 lifers within minutes: the Rufous-winged Sparrow and Lucy's Warbler. It's great to eat outside to see the birds. Enjoyed the rooms we've had as well. One thing I'd change would be to have the bird feeders filled at all times. Enjoyed the cookies in the common room. This is our go-to place when in the Tucson area. We have recommended it to others.
