Review: My Experience at Pentecostal Church of God - Bloomington

I had a very disappointing experience with this church, particularly their women’s home. The living conditions were extremely poor and not suitable for anyone. The house had a non-working toilet and sink, requiring residents to flush the toilet with a bucket and even brush their teeth using the same bucket. The environment felt unsafe, with knives left unlocked and a revolving door of residents, some with severe mental health challenges.

Additionally, there were large rats in the home, even chewing through food storage like plastic bags. Residents are not allowed to use phones or devices for an entire year and cannot work for the first six months unless it’s through the pastor’s meat warehouse. Daily life included cleaning the church for six hours a day and giving a portion of any income, along with all EBT benefits, to the house.

When I decided to leave, they refused to let me make a phone call, and I discovered some of my personal belongings were I missing. My overall experience was deeply negative, and I hope this feedback helps others make informed decisions.

This is a very good church. The pastor there is very kind. He also runs a men's and women's home for anybody out there that needs somewhere safe toclean up t. it's a small congregation and it's family-oriented. I would suggest you give it a tryheir lives

The pastor is wonderful. He has a man's home as well as a woman's home that it's a wonderful place to get close to God and o fellowship, as well as help with your addictions

These people really helped me while I was down a few years ago. I went through pastor John’s program from 2019-2020. Maybe one day I’ll go back to say hello to all those nice wonderful folks.

Shelter was horrible I was there for 3 days there was a crazy girl there made several compliments nothing was done....they take your phone so you basically have no contact without world or family...when I said I wanted to leave no one took me seriously on several occasions
