Jan with Assisted Living Connections was a true blessing for me. I was making the difficult decision to place mom and was not sure how to go about it. Fortunately, I found Jan. Jan explained everything to me in an understandable way and guided me through the process. In addition, Jan set up several placement tours where I was met by a care representative at each location and given a tour of their facility and accommodations. During my tours, I was able to meet and speak with residents and staff. This was both informative and insightful in finding the right fit for mom. Jan was so dedicated, she arranged nine tours for me during her week off. Thanks to Jan, I found a great placement for mom, and she is very happy with her new home. I highly recommend Jan when choosing a place for your mom. Thanks Jan!!

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this review on behalf of our family as a testimony to the incredible support, and help Kelila provided to our family. Nothing short of an angel, is what my sister calls her.... and I would agree. I worked with Kelila to find the proper placement for my mother with dementia. Kelila helped us navigate this daunting task, and helped locate the best places for mom. She knew the questions to ask, ins and outs of the facilities, and took pressure off us during this difficult and emotionally taxing time. She also had incredible resources which she offered to help us through this journey - a counselor to help us navigate how to present the idea to mom; traveling doctors to help with mom's needed forms; and a local TB test location which could accommodate our busy schedules. I honestly felt so much less concern and knew that the whole journey would be okay because I had an expert in my court. Our family is highly educated, and credentialed... No one prepares you for this journey and despite how smart you are, the journey is one that is exceptionally difficult to navigate without assistance.

I found Jan and Assisted Living Connections while searching online for assistance with finding my mom an assisted living or board and care home in the Los Angeles area. I spoke with several consultants and Jan felt like the best fit for us, and this definitely turned out to be the case. Jan was great! She was very professional and informative in providing recommended properties for us to visit. We ultimately found a great board and care home in Sherman Oaks based on Jan's recommendations. I highly recommend Jan and Assisted Living Connections!

I met Kelila totally by accident/chance because I was listening to a radio interview where she was the guest. It was my first encounter with the subject of assisted living for my husband, and it started a smooth journey to getting the right contact in my state and then finding the wonderful facility my husband has now been in since 4/1/24. I had been struggling for a solution to my inability to continue caring for my husband, who has vascular dementia, alone in a rural setting. So the seed planted during a random radio interview became a lifesaver for me, and I am grateful to Kelila for being generous in speaking to me and guiding me even though I didn't live in her state and needed extra help. I encourage all primary caregivers to learn about this alternative to staying at home, because there are times when circumstances are such that you need this kind of help!

I have used ALC twice to help me find a good home for my uncle. The first time they helped me secure him a good spot in Ojai. When that facility closed and they gave me two months notice, I called them in a panic and Jan Beers assured me we'd find something suitable right away. By the next day, I was taking a video tour of five potential locations and picked one with a jolly staff and a lovely room. ALC narrows down the options to just the best locales and helps you coordinate everything. Can't recommend them enough!

Assisted Living Connections is the best and I wish I had found them early in my search for a place for my dad. My dad had returned to the US after being kicked out of China at the age of 88 and he literally had no home to return to. He couldn't stay with me because I live in a tiny place and am allergic to smoke (He's a half pack a day smoker and too old to want to quit). He was living in motels for 6 months while we tried to find a place for him at an afordable price point, and other so called placement services like A Place for Mom or the country weren;t helpful at all - they just gave me a list and wished me luck.

Tami was a total life saver because she did the leg work to find 2 places that allowed smokers, were in our price range, and had openings. She even notigiated reduced rent the first month so we would use that money to buy the furniture my father needed. Within a week, we checked out 2 places and started the process for moving in (so much paperwork, but reputable assisted living places are be licensed by the state, thius paperwork). Now my dad is in a great place where he is supported and has stability in his life.

Great company, great people. They really live their mission.

You cannot find a better place to help you find your loved one a place to live. I can’t say enough about Jan Bearss she is absolutely amazing. She took so much time with us to find the perfect place for our loved one and it was not an easy task but she was there with us through every step and went above and beyond to help us.
She really cares about you and your family ( that is hard to find these days) This was not the first time I had to place a loved one in assisted living but this was the first time I used Assisted Living Connection ( whom was recommended by another family member) after there experience with Jan and what a difference over my previous experiences.
Other places just give you a list of facilities and you are on your own. Jan actually made the appointments to tour the facilities and went with us to several which really made a world of difference. It is one of the hardest things you have to go through placing your loved one in someone else’s care and Jan was so compassionate and was always there to help and support us on making the best decision, never any pressure.
She has a wonderful support team and even helped us with transportation and getting the TB test done because our loved one could not go to the doctor because of late stage Alzheimer’s and everyone she referred us to was amazing.
You can’t find a better person out there to help you through this process than Jan.
She found the perfect place for our loved one and he is thriving over where he was and getting so much love and attention, we couldn’t be happier.
