There are so many issues with this apartment complex, but I'll start with the pros. The apartment complex is kept fairly clean. The pros end there. Let's get into the cons.

Cons:
1. NO SECURITY, OR CAMERAS. My storage unit was broken into with $3700 worth of items stolen and there's nothing I can do about it. Why? Because there's no cameras in the hallways or the garage. Why would they not install cameras by storage units? And what kind of apartment has no security measures at all? The hallways are not completely enclosed. The ends of the hallways are open to the outside, which means less overall security.
2. NOISE. You will hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. I hear loud stomps, pet running around, items dropping, tv bass, music, kitchen blender, etc. The ceiling/flooring are soo thin that sometimes it shakes my ceiling and the light fixtures.
3. BUGS: I thought ants were only invading my apartment but a talk with a few neighbors revealed that wasn't the case and it was an issue with a few tenants.
4: GARAGE FLAW: People can literally hop the little side railing by the parking garage gate.
5: HOMELESS PEOPLE: They sometimes occupy 5th Ave.

Overall, I do not recommend this apartment complex and I cannot wait to leave.

The management is very unresponsive. 90% of my calls to the office are never picked up or got a call back on. My emails are very very rarely answered.

I moved out recently and was told I owed money, even after we cleaned the entire apartment spotless. The best part is, I still don't know why my deposit money was gone, because they don't pick up the damn phone!

Oh, the call about I owe the money? they made that call at 5:56 PM right before their office closes, so I couldn't reach them with a callback. Still can't even now.

This is an UPDATED Review of Areum Apartments. I wrote my original review shortly after we first moved in in 2017. As the very first occupants at Areum, I have a unique perspective- as we get ready to move out soon. The ONLY reason we are leaving Areum is because we are moving to Los Angeles. Otherwise, we would be extending our lease FOR SURE.

I honestly have nothing but positive comments about Areum. This is a luxurious complex, to be sure. The management team at Areum include Tony (Manager) and Grace. Both have been at Areum from the beginning, and are both amazing!!! Both Tony and Grace are always responsive to any needs and enforce the complex rules ( such as non-smoking environment). The grounds are kept immaculate at all times, thanks to Oscar. Our Apartment has EXTRAORDINARY VIEWS of surrounding mountains and courtyard. (see photo). Amenities include a spacious gathering room with 2 huge big screen televisions, a large sized pool table, kitchen and comfortable couches. This room can also be rented out for special occasions for a nominal fee. The heated pool and jacuzzi are both beautiful. There is a barbeque grill, complete with sink and ample counter and bar with seating- as well as another big screen television. There is a walkway that winds around the property that residents use to walk their dogs ( the complex is dog friendly). The complex is quiet- the windows are soundproof- and when shut, block out all noise. The location is extremely convenient, close to Freeway 210 ( less than one minute drive), and walking distance to countless restaurants such as Olive Garden, Claim Jumper, Red Lobster, Black Angus, Soup Plantation to name just a few. Our bank is literally right across the street ( Wells Fargo). There is a Metro Bus Stop in front of the complex, and the Arcadia Metro Subway stop is less than 1 mile ( easy drive or walk). The apartments are very modern with A LOT of storage in the kitchen. Bedrooms have Walk-In Closets and In Unit Stacked Washer and Dryer. I highly recommend Areum if you are looking for your next home in the Arcadia area! Please feel free to ask any additional questions.

RAW Performance

A year after having moved out we get contacted by a collection agency (Genesis). It seems they like to tack on bogus move out fees and tell you nothing about till it’s too late. We made sure to ask before moving out and they let us know everything was settled. It’s almost as they’re giving you a big F-U for moving out by adding these fees after moving out and not telling you anything about them and just sending them straight to collections. Do not move here.

I called the office looking for some guidance. The response I received was "Those questions you have are better for the manager, the manager is not in town. She has been out of town for a while and I don't know when she will be back."

Sounds like they just want your money and don't really care once you are on the lease.

My husband and I came to look at these apartments we were thinking of moving in the area. Leo Dean was extremely helpful and pleasant during our experience of touring the facility. He answered all of our questions and was very respectful. My husband and I are still unsure of moving to the area but if we do this is definitely where we would stay.
