It was a cute lil hideaway dipped off in the cut! Everything was clean! There was even an ice tray full of ice... And why was that important at that time? I rode with a friend from Memphis to Arkansas... We had 2 other stops before Mount Ida... And it was hot... And we were in a box truck with no air! We made stops in between to get ice & stuff... But bout time we got to Aqua, that ice was longgggg gone! That tray full of ice was heaven sent! It was clean... Well equipped with cups and dishes... A little 2 chair dinette set by the window in the kitchen area... A 4 burner stovetop... A lil refrigerator, with a little TV on top... Clean bathroom with plenty of towels... Nice, comfortable, clean beds with thick pillows like I like... It had a window unit that cooled the whole room down within minutes... Cute little lamp on the night stand... I was thrown back, but adored how simple the decor was... And I had the best time during my stay! And the wifi was on point because my phone got NO RECEPTION!!! Had to use my Google voice number to make calls! Going there was a spare of the moment thing, but I'd plan a little getaway there... Take some groceries... Maybe a lil grill... A cooler fulla goodies... A blender for some mixed drinks... Just a nice lil spot to enjoy some quality time with a person you like, without all the extravagant bells & whistles of higher priced spots! But everything you need to make it a memorable experience!

Fate brought us to the most unexpected bliss backed up to the national forest. It's so quiet and peaceful out here. We booked one night then wound up staying for four because we didn't want to leave.
Turn off your cell phone and imagine a 1960s river, forest, and lake adventure motel. It's truly a gem and the owners are too.
Everything is super clean and ready for you to cook as well. Thank you for a wonderful experience in Arkansas.

This rustic little place has only 6 rooms, but they are like being at home. Except they're peaceful and quiet.
The front room is a kitchen/dinette/living room all rolled into one quaint little package. The back room is the bedroom. I haven't slept on a more comfortable bed since I was just a child.

Very clean and private. Step back in time when everything was smaller, even the kitchenette. Made spaghetti which saved me eating out and paid for the room.

When we were kids what seemed large, now seems small. Vintage motel from the 1950’s hasn’t changed much. Just the basics, I comfy chair, 1 television that gets good shows like gold hunter and oak island binge. Oven, microwave and stove, small refrigerator, vintage kitchen table, cook a meal. Functional small bathroom. Mattress is old but comfortable.

If I were the owner, I would get a zippered protect a bed mattress pad to keep it sanitary and next time I would bring my own sheets and bedding or sleeping bag to sleep in, unless you like cheap rough sheets. Very quiet with lots of shade trees. Room is large enough for a couple and a couple small children.

We had an amazing stay here! The owners are so friendly and helpful. We stopped there for Christmas day and wanted to do some quartz mining. The directed us to an amazing spot and did everything they could to make our trip enjoyable.
The rooms are not luxurious, but are very comfortable. Rooms are very simple and old. It was very clean and tidy, but no frills. They are nestled at the base of a mountain and surrounded by huge pine trees. We had no cell service, and that just added to the enjoyment of our family trip without distractions of electronics.
We plan to make this a stop on future vacations!

Absolutely amazing. Now each person opinion of amazing is different but if you are a down to earth person/family this is definitely the place for you. I had my 16 year old technology addicted girl and my 5 and 7 year boys and I've never had m y girl tell me thank you for a great mini vacation like she has this weekend. I highly recommend this place and will be back hopefully several times a year.

It was built in 1969 and the grandchildren now keep it running! We were very thankful to stumble on this quite little spot!
I love that it hasn't been turned into something it's not.
We will definitely stay again when we visit. Thank you!

This Mom& Pop Motel has been here a long time. 5 units. Some with kitchenettes, some just sleeping rooms. We stayed in Unit #1 Non smoking with a delightful little concrete patio and small picnic table. The kitchenette had 50's style table and 2 chairs. An easy chair, TV-5 cable channels only. Range-top electric stove, microwave, electric 4 cup coffee pot and a mini frig. Open doorway into sleeping area with 1 double bed and 1 twin. AC/ Heater in window above twin bed. Very small bathroom with sink- toilet and standing metal shower. Setting is on a hill just up from the house -which is the office. Building and interior walls are concrete block. Very quiet- beautiful setting looking at large grassy area and woods. Just minutes away from Lake Washita and Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine.
