My room was spotless; the care given to maintaining the hotel was evident. The room I stayed in had recently been remodeled; I appreciated the hard surface floors. The couple managing the hotel are gold. They made me feel comfortable with their hospitality and warmness. The breakfast was a little sparse; but, appropriate for what I paid for the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I greatly appreciated the hardworking couple managing this hotel. They gave me the quiet room I had requested - never heard a car, train or voice for a good night's sleep. The room was very clean and quite spacious. As a solo senior, I also appreciated the safe and interesting location. For the very reasonable cost of this motel, it was an excellent value. I will be returning whenever I pass through Barstow.

Avoid at all cost. Google says this is an americas best but it is an econolodge. Got here after calling 3hrs ahead for a room and the lady told us to go somewhere else because we wanted to make sure there were no bed bugs after having a bad situation somewhere else. She said there would be no refunds if there were bed bugs which makes it seem like there is something wrong and they only want your money

Very eclectic and cool. These are not your typical hotel rooms. They have been or are in the process of being remodeled, some of the rooms have 2 queen beds and 1 king to accommodate larger groups, and the fixtures are higher end than I expected by a lot. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets and towels were very clean.

The reason for the low stars is really a cleanliness and care issue. The bathtub did have some holes in it that need to be fixed, the floor was visually dirty, and the ice maker was vastly non functional. The main thing though, was the large, rodent sized cockroach. I mean seriously, that thing should’ve had a collar and a name tag.

I would possibly come here again, especially at the very reasonable price.

I think the people running the location may be running a scam.

When I went to check in I was asked to pay for the room, which I already had about a month prior, and my bank statement attested to that. They then informed me I had reserved a second room earlier that same day, which I didn't and could not have as I was driving that whole time, and I didn't get an email or anything about said reservation anyway. When I said I hadn't reserved a second room they still tried to get me to pay until I refused a number of times, and it appears they tried to charge me anyway, though it ultimately got canceled and I only paid for the room.

Second, they required they photocopy my credit card and driver's license, which I've never heard of a hotel or motel needing to do especially when I'd already paid and my credit card was otherwise on file. When I expressed concern about this, I was told it was "for security purposes" and "don't worry about it" which doesn't make me comfortable at all. I've since had a new credit card issued because of this.

Then we get to the room: it was a non-smoking room, and clearly someone before me had taped over the vents of the smoke alarm and smoked, which they had apparently neither noticed nor checked. There were faintly visible stains on the blanket, and I dared not check things with my black light. I checked and found no signs of bed bugs, so that was good at least. And last, as mentioned by another reviewer, the ice machine was non-functional, and probably would have been dangerously unhygienic even if it were from what I was able to see.

Avoid this place if you possibly can.

The first room they put us in was horrible. The carpet was coming up near the bathroom, the room was full of flies, and the room was hot because they do not keep the little AC Unit running. I told them the problems and they put us in another room which had no flies and the carpet was fine, however the room took about 4 hours to cool off and the dresser drawers were sticky almost greasy feeling. We immediately told the front desk girl to cancel our reservation because we were not staying another night and she said she would ask her manager. Later that night I asked her about not charging us for the next day for we would not be there and her response was that she forgot to ask and she would call our room. She never called our room and in the morning there was no one to be found. THEY CHARGED ME FOR TWO NIGHTS. The breakfast they advertise was a box of cheerios, half a gallon of milk and a half gallon of OJ. The room they had the so called breakfast in was dirty and they did not turn on the AC so it was about 115 degrees. WOW what a false advertisement. DO Not stay here it is better to pay more money somewhere else trust me.

We stayed here for 4 hours on Dec.17 2020. Rooms were nothing fancy but were recently remodeled. Bathroom needed maintenced & disinfecting. I had that in my car, so I went to work on it. We were their only customer, as of 12:00 am. We were charged; Room rate $57.70; Deposit $150.00. Nothing cleared our bank until Dec. 21, 2020. It is now Jan. 20, 2021. We have called this Inn four times and spoke with the manager in regards to our deposit that has never been returned. He has not given us a straight answer. He said, "I will have to talk to my son. I will call you back." Then click! He doesn't take our name or number and he has never called back. We will file a dispute with our credit card company to receive our deposit back.

Don't recommend anyone staying here! The bath tubs were super dirty. The ac didn't work well and it's 106 outside. The room gave me a dirty vibe. The area this motel is located is in the ghetto. A lot of weird people that do drugs hangout outside. The owner also wouldn't give us our money back for not staying the night. We checked out immediately.
