Located a few minutes from Plymouth, in Amador County is the most perfect place to stay while wine tasting at the numerous, and beautiful wineries in the area. As part of Deaver Winery, you are out in the lovely wine country amongst all it’s beauty. Amador Harvest Inn is a small inn/ B&B comprising of 4 rooms. We like the Zinfandel room, because it is the largest with a king bed. But Chardonnay is wonderful with its balcony/deck . They are all nice. What makes the Inn special is Ginger who is running it. So thoughtful catering to your every need. And the breakfast is super. You sit out on the patio overlooking the winery pond watching the wood ducks, herons and egrets, what could be more peaceful, what more could you want. This is a hidden gem, so glad we discovered it! It is the place to stay while visiting the lovely Shenandoah Valley wine region of California.

We spent two nights here, along with my husband's brother and his wife. The Amador Harvest Inn is located on the Deaver Winery property. The setting is pastoral, with a beautiful pond, green grass, trees and a vineyard next the the B & B. It is pure heaven to sit on the large covered back porch and gaze out at the beautiful scenery while drinking your morning coffee, or sipping a glass of wine in the late afternoon. Tara, the innkeeper is a joy! She makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Her breakfasts are delicious and filling and the afternoon glass of Deaver wine and Tara's appetizers were wonderful. It is a beautiful inn in a gorgeous, serene setting, with a sweet, friendly innkeeper and many great wineries close by. This place is an A+ and we look forward to coming back!

Amador Harvest Inn is located in a serene and beautiful winery vineyard over looking Deaver Pond, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley wine country of Amador County, Ca. This small Inn consist of 4 ensuite rooms all on the second floor. We enjoyed the Zinfandel Room, a very spacious romantic room with a very comfortable king bed. There are lovely spacious common rooms for everyone to enjoy on the first floor and a great covered porch looking out on the pond where you can relax sip your wine, read your book or just watch all the birds.||You are greeted by Tara the innkeeper who is so nice and helpful going out of her way to accommodate all your needs. And what a fabulous breakfast she makes for you. You will not go away hungry while being sure to meet any special dietary needs.||Everything about this Inn is as great as can be even down to the linens they use.||If you want a very peaceful and quiet place this is the place.||We will definitely be back.

It was Memorial Day weekend and at the last minute we decided to go to our favorite area to wine taste. All our preferred places were booked up and I found a minimum 2 day stay at the Amador Harvest Inn. ||This bed and breakfast has the most beautiful view in the area. We chose the Chardonnay room which shares the balcony with another room which worked out great for us, since no one booked the room next door. You absolutely get the morning sunshine in this room. ||The inn-keeper Tara is a delightful gal who runs the B&B. She provides a glass of wine and a snack at 5pm. You can choose your wine since the B&B is on the property of the Deaver Winery. ||The breakfast is a full course meal which will send you off for a day of wine tasting and you can without a doubt skip your lunch. ||I think this could be our new favorite place and would certainly book here again. The one bad thing I could find is ...you must book two night stay. Sometimes we just like to go on Saturday and come back Sunday for a little hide away time. |

What makes this Inn fantastic is the Innkeeper, Tara. She goes far out of her way to make sure details are in place. Details like fresh flowers from the Deaver flower farm in the summer, like fires in the fire place in the winter, like the best scones you've ever tasted. As if that wasn't enough, the cozy inn sits on a beautiful wide open space, with lush green grass and morning geese. To the right, sits the vineyard. And straight off the back porch is a big, beautiful reflective lake with egrets and a blue heron that frequent. Deaver Winery, famous for their delicious ports, is 50 feet away which makes tasting so easy and relaxing. Price points are quite reasonable for this area, and did I mention Tara is a magical unicorn?! One thing: if you want modern TV type rooms with luxury layout, this isn't for you. This comfy inn is for disconnecting (though they do have WiFi if you must). We've been back and we'll be back again.

The Amador Harvest Inn is a quaint little B&B located on the grounds of the Deaver Winery. With a porch overlooking the lawn down to a lovely pond, and a vineyard on the other side, the setting is rural and beautiful. There is no shortage of wildlife: Canada Geese in the pond (with goslings), Cooper's hawks in the trees, and hummingbirds around the feeder on the porch.||Tara, the innkeeper, does a wonderful job of making you welcome, providing a tasty snack at 5 and outstanding breakfasts.||The wines are what brought us to Amador: ZInfandel, Barbera and Sangiovese are all top rate.

This was our third visit to this inn and a fourth visit to the region. Ginger was our innkeep on this trip and she was great. Such attention to detail and wonderful food. Ginger is kindness itself. The whole visit was exceptional. Besides the lovely inn, there is always interesting wildlife. One year it was ducklings, one year it was killdeer, this year a pair of otters, and always a long list of birds. This is the center of the motherlode country wine region, and there are many small gems of wineries to visit--too many for a single visit so you must return. This is a simple, rural area of great beauty.

Cute little inn/house - I love how the rooms are named after different types of wines. This is part of the Deaver property and they have a tasting room right next door - I would definitely recommend a visit there! While staying here at the inn, we met another couple and hung out with them on the patio in the evening. There are so many other vineyards and tasting rooms nearby so that was nice. The property also has a lake so you can go for a stroll around if you wish.

ROOM
We got the Chardonnay room which has a shared deck with the room next door. No one was ever out there though so we had it to ourselves - it was nice to enjoy wine there and play a couple rounds of board games. The room had everything we needed. While the AC didn't feel too strong, there was a ceiling fan so that helped a lot (we went during a hot weekend).

INNKEEPER/HOST
Morgan wasn't too friendly and didn't make us feel too welcomed - seemed like she just did and said the bare minimum. For example, when we returned from our outing she would poke her head out from the kitchen to see who it was and see us, but then just go back to what she was doing without saying hi or anything. Or after coming back inside after eating our breakfast on the patio, she would just be sitting in silence at the little kitchen table staring into her laptop. I noticed the morning after our first night there, she wrote a note on one of the fridges to not touch anything in that fridge because it's not for guests. I'm not sure if she thought we took something out from there but we didn't. We only opened the other fridge since that's where we can get water and where she puts our appetizers/wine. I did choose this inn because of the great reviews but that was due to the amazing innkeeper(s) that those guests had. I didn't realize how new Morgan was to this inn and that the previous hosts were no longer at Amador Harvest Inn.

FOOD
At 7am, there are pastries and coffee available. At 9am, breakfast is ready. Morgan makes breakfast and leaves it on the counter for us - you can eat it inside or take it out to the front patio which is what we did since the mornings were nice and cooler than the daytime. The breakfast itself is okay. We stayed for two nights so the first breakfast was french toast, sausage links, fruit and yogurt. The second breakfast was a breakfast burrito with a bowl of fruits. Our breakfast was never hot either. At 3pm, there's wine and an appetizer. The first night we got a charcuterie plate and the second night we got a veggie platter with hummus. The food was nothing impressive but I did like that there was wine to drink in the evening. 🙂

Overall, I'm not sure I'd come back to this inn. I think it's the innkeeper who definitely makes the experience for guests and while it was a comfortable stay in our room, it didn't feel welcoming at all.
