Almond Heights Sr. Living has been a welcome blessing to my husband Greg and myself. We were welcomed warmly by all and that has continued throughout the last 9 mos. Greg is getting the care he needs mobilitywise and I am receiving help to care for him. Were there adjustments that needed to be made on both sides? Yes; we had to adjust to caregivers coming into the room, new circumstances, etc; the caregivers had to adjust to how we managed Greg's care. It worked. I've been able to get his food to go; that has helped both of us. I am able to go to any staff and ask questions and respectively get answers. I can be gone for some hrs. and know he is being checked on and his needs met. That was the big reason we came to Al. Heights. We have been able to watch our twin granddaughters some; we feel that is good to help Greg stay engaged in life. Is Al. Hts. perfect? Of course not; but they appear to be striving toward being better. I have agreed to be on the resident council to keep the residents involved in their living circumstances. Thank you Al. Hts. for inviting us into your community.

I will only speak on the Memory Care Facility at Almond Heights. I was able to spend quite a bit of time with my mom while she lived there. The employees there made my mom feel loved and cared for. My mom had many favorite employees there and wasn't shy to tell them so. Shoutouts to Patricia, Layla, Joaquin, Amanda, and others whom I don't know/remember their names. Patricia was especially warm towards my mom and my family. She was easy to talk to and fought to have the best care for her residents. I'm thankful for her and the experiences my mom had while living in a facility that she eventually saw as 'home.'

Almond Heights definitely deserves more than a 5 Star Rating. The Interior is beautifully decorated, updated and clean and the Exterior has a private courtyard, balcony and walking pathway which is beautifully landscaped and chairs/tables to enjoy the outdoors. The dining room is inviting with delicious, fresh and healthy meals. There are a variety of fun and social activities throughout the day. The staff/employees: All are Exceptional, Professional, Friendly, Kind, Courteous, Compassionate, Polite, Patient and always willing to help you with a genuine smile. The Residents: All appear to be happy, friendly, welcoming and enjoying life with each other—many have said they are all one Big Family. My mom moved in about one month ago—it took her about two weeks to settle into her new apartment, which was a bit stressful trying to decide what to bring to her new apartment from her 1500sqft home. It brings joy to my heart to see my mom settling into her apartment, meeting new friends and now participating in the daily activities all with a smile. It brings me comfort knowing my mom is in a Safe environment with incredible staff to help her, if needed. Thank you Almond Heights Staff—I Adore All of You💜

My family member was in this community for just under two months. I moved him in to the community because he needed more socialization.

While they do have an activity program they did little or nothing to really get him involved in those programs or helping him make new friends.

There were a number of other care issues including not making sure he was bathing even though we were paying for that.

I simply think there are better places, that care more.

We ended up moving him back home.

We looked at several memory impaired facilities before we settled on Almond Heights. Since moving in there are a lot more advantages than we first realized. The memory area is secured. The staff is caring and loving. Medicines are given on time. The meals are delicious. If there is a need, staff will take care of it. Maintenance and housekeeping are top notch. Recreation is daily. Socialization is encouraged. I would recommend Almond Heights to anyone looking for an assisted care facility

My mother came here 3-4 months ago and really resisted being there. She had an overall negative attitude that was though to deal with. She now says she likes it there and says the staff are friendly and she has made some friends As a family we can come and see her regulalry and take part in what she does We are all very happy to see this change in her. She’s looking better and I think it’s had an overall positive effect on her attitude. We can rest easy knowing she is well cared for. But for gods sakes please improve the food. The one big mark against this place. Many family members have eaten there with my mom for dinner. Everyone has the same opinion. It saddens me that such a nice place cannot come up with better prepared meals.
