This will be my sons second year and hopefully we will have an even better year than last year. His kindergarten teacher Mrs. Sweat man was an awesome and understanding teacher I hope his first grade teacher will be just as awesome. I love Chalkville.

Who did you people pay off to say this is a "great school?" The female principal that was there when my son was there last 2009-2010 had a conference with his grandmother and flatout told her he would be a dropout and never amount to anything and would be on drugs by middle school because it was close to Huffman and drugs are rampant there. Well, I just wanted you to know he easily graduated Hayden High yesterday easily and at least, instead of calling someone's kid a good for nothing loser, at least Hayden's faculty thought that maybe he just had bad eyesight, which he does. Clay High better keep winning football games at all costs, because it's obvious what their main concerns are and it's going to be just like another inner city Birmingham school in no time and the city is going to be a gangland. By the way, when the kids that you actually have graduate decide to move because they've already destroyed their own neighborhoods and made them unsafe, stay the Hell out of Blount County!

I go to school there and it is great but these kids are mean and somewhat disrespectful But some kids aren't. I love the school though and it is a great school and i mostly like p.e.

It was the worst school ever so I went to clay elementary I left at 1st grade I hate you Mrs. Johnson they tried to kill my cousin they are disrespectful they threatened my mom

This school puts a price on our kids heads. Today the principal said he has a family to go home to and if I am late picking my kids up he is going to report me to DHR. Nevermind that I was coming from work and nevermind my kids safety he wanted me to put him and his family first. It is disgusting how DHR is suppose to be for kids who are abused but a hard working mom like me is threatened with DHR BECAUSE I WAS LATE COMING FROM WORK. He said that if I wanted my kids to go to after school care to avoid him calling DHR that I would need to give them $200. I kid you not we have to pay for sock day crazy hat day PTA and any other time the wind blows hard THIS FREE PUBLIC SCHOOL is going to send you a bill. If you don't pay THEY PUT YOUR KIDS SAFETY AT RISK VIA DHR. MONEY MONEY MONEY every call I get from them is money and almost everyone on staff I have came in contact with has gotten to use to talking to kids so they think they can talk to you like that too! The principal just tried his best to talk over me my kids WILL NOT be returning to chalkville we are literally moving just to get out of this district away from this school.
