I just needed something cheap and cheerful and this is it.
Arriving on the bus in Barstow you find no indication of public transport. Pity because public transport in Barstow is actually pretty good. The bus depot is devoid of life outside daylight. There is a taxi you can call and its driver is a bit negative about my destination suggesting that this is not a great part of town. This driver has never been to the rougher parts of towns I am familiar with!
The owners of this property indicate the exterior is a little rough, and it is. The original building on this site was never going to last forever in the climate, and the property shows signs of wear and tear. So do surrounding properties. Barstow has climate extremes. It is billed as worker accommodation. That’s an honest enough appraisal.
The self check in system works. I arrived a bit after dark and as far as I can tell there is no on site office.
The building may be rough but this place is *clean*. The linen is clean and in good condition. No threadbare stuff. There is water, hot water a shower and a toilet. Did I mention clean? The place may be worn but whoever does the housekeeping is fastidious.
The gap between the door and the door jamb is big. Enough to see through, which is a security worry, but the door lock is substantial.
The property is quiet. You may hear muffled sound from adjacent rooms. Not so much as to bother your sleep. Passing traffic is un noticeable.
Would I return? Probably yes. It’s convenient as a low cost stopover on the way to the event I attend.

Rooms are very clean and made. You get what you pay for, lot is not pretty but didn't have any bugs, or noise issues, AC was running perfectly. If you just need a clean place to sleep for a few hours with a reasonable price this is it.

As advertised. But I don’t think the lock works itself to lock position when you simply close door and go out. Besides using last four digits of guest’s cell is not an optimal choice. Better just randomly set it up.

I rented in October 2016 till May 2017....the family that owns this motel gave me a great monthly deal....they mostly dealt with monthly renters but kept at least 3 rooms open for daily renters. The daily renters usually came from other motels and brought in bugs and as soon as the family found out they were asked to leave!!!! I actually helped the family clean the rooms and exterminated them before another renter came in. The people that left bad reviews are literally the people that got kicked out for their disgusting ways of living!!!! I was there with my husband and 2 kids....my room was clean and free of bugs!!!! Sooooooo I guess it's just up to you on how you live. People can give you a room to rent but it's actually up to you to decide how you live in it.

Trash, there is an issue for every room, the owner doesn't invest $$, showers don't work, lights barely come on, drug dealers, the owner is dumb recommend not wasting your time. Also I use to manage the place, it's infested with bed bugs, rats, mice

BED BUG INFESTATION! BED BUG INFESTATION! do not even try & rent a room here, i needed somewhere to live at & they offer month to month there so in desperation i rented it ( mistake) the room was filthy, i figured I'd just clean it & not complain, i did the bathroom & used my own bedding, next morning i woke up & seen i had been bitten, i immediately told the manager & she gave me 2 hot spot foggers, i set them off & went back, the foggers did nothing, since i had no where else to go i tried to see if i could try & control the problem with no luck, i was there 3 nights & 2 days miserably, On Monday August 3rd 2020 i could not take no more, I had gotten bit a total of 86 times, on my face, arms, legs upper & lower back, on my head in my ears, private parts etc... I asked management for a full refund, manager would not give it to me she ended up giving me $350.00 i paid &650.00, I've had to go to the hospital with abscess on ny body, also to top it all off managers son came out & tried to start a fight, I had a very bad experiance staying at the Samds Motel in Barstow Ca, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THE SANDS MOTEL,

The family that owns this bug infested filthy motel is beyond disgusting. They are hostile, unaccommodating and rude. I rented a room for one month and definitely will not extend my stay past the end of this month. Simple services such as WiFi are hardly available and when complaints are made they actually turn it off for days at a time. I suggest Barstow Route 66 Motel across the street or one of the many motel or hotels just nearby on Main Street here in Barstow.

Ziemlich runtergekommen, sehr abgegriffen und bei machen Zimmer kam Wasser durch die Wände und Decke.

Das einzig positive war, dass die Rückerstattung ohne Probleme verlief.
