I moved from KY area about 6 months ago with my horse and realized safe boarding stables that actually feed the horses are almost non-existent in Kingman. This is by far the nicest barn in Kingman and Crystal really goes above and beyond to care for each horse individually. Mine is incredibly accident prone and she's found a routine that works for him and keeps him happy and sound.

I was a professor of Equine Science for 10 years and I have an expectation that my horse will be in a safe environment and fed on a regular basis. This is the ONLY place I feel comfortable leaving my horse and not visiting him for a few days because I know he's cared for and Crystal will look after him like he's her own. All the horses there are shiny, heathy, and well cared for and I love the no drama environment. I absolutely recommend boarding here.

I can't say enough good about Crystal Mowry (the owner) and her care of my elderly horses at Contender Ranch! The location is beautiful and easy to access from Kingman. Her facilities are in good repair and clean. It's a peaceful and relaxing place. I arrived there 5 years ago with 2 challenging horses. (And I did use Crystal's services to relocate them by trailer from central CO to Kingman - which went perfectly) One horse was very elderly (28 yo) and in poor condition due to insufficient care for the previous year. Crystal got weight back on her and let her live out her last year in peace and comfort. The other horse has a badly damaged knee from a previous owner's misuse. Not to mention that he's getting a bit older himself! Probably about 21. Crystal has worked with multiple farriers and vets to ensure his comfort and, over the last couple of years provide a lot of extra feeding support (we all appreciate the extra work of beet pulp mash and the trial and error that goes into maintaining an elder horse.) I relocated away from Kingman about 3 years ago and, even though it's hard being away from my retired old-man-horse, I have not encountered any barns since where I believed he would recieve care that was anywhere near as good as what Crystal provides him! She makes sure he gets pasture time, horse buddies to interact with and stall time when it's cold in the winter or hot in the summer. And every so often she sends me a few pictures that just melt my heart. All these little extras that she does not have to do but chooses to add up. I really believe you can't go wrong having your horse in Crystal's care at Contender Ranch! Say hi to my Rhett if you visit! ?

We stayed here overnight. There were nice, big barn stalls with lots of shavings. Crystal, the owner, went above and beyond to help us with a difficult to load horse. We recommend and would stay here again!
