This place claims that they had booking issues with a third party platform and did not receive many reservations. You can see on many reviews spanning a long time period in 2024 that they did not fix this issue when they initially identified it and continued charging people for last minute bookings (after informing those people they had not received the original booking). Of course these also minute bookings are more expensive than the original bookings.||||This is a double booking scam, avoid this motel at all costs and patronize a less predatory hotel in a nearby location (there are many great options around!)

Stay away from this place! The copy on this place uses words like apartment and quaint. It is neither. The room we saw was quite cramped and unpleasant. The room was misrepresented to us by the "host" and she pressured us into taking the room. When we saw that the room was far from adequate for us she would not refund our fee. This was theft to me. Very interesting. She tries to say I have the wrong place yet there is a charge from the Alpine Inn on my card. Hmmm. Stay away from the Alpine Inn. As you can see from other reviews here and on TripAdvisor, My family was not the only victim of this scam.

Booked 2 nites weeks ahead, but 2 days prior they cancelled, due to their 3rd party agent problem (they said), and made us re-book but then only for 1 day, then afterwards raised rates from $140's to $194. Refused to let us cancel or to lower rate, saying this was all "as a courtesy." To top it off: their wifi password was incorrect, the "hi-speed" wifi was too slow to use TV, AND... no toilet paper.

My booking at the Alpine Inn Motel in Coopers Landing Alaska was tainted by unprofessionalism and what felt like the motel's need to scam its guests.

Me and my friends booked a room through a third party company. We were shocked when the motel's employee (or manager? Heather) called and texted us, informing us that the motel stopped the communication through that company, and that we are obligated to pay twice the price or our reservation won't be accepted. She went even further texting us that the codes to our rooms have been changed and that we won't be able to sleep there. Needles to say that we haven't set foot near the motel just yet and the whole interaction was very upsetting.

It was hard trying to handle the situation with low to none coverage while traveling through Alaska, also because of the bad taste we didn't want to stay in that motel. We had to book another place that cost us more money that what we wanted to spend to begin with.

If you are considering booking with this motel just be aware that the same thing might happen to you, without any warning.

BE AWARE and STAY AWAY!

TLDR; no hot water, no heat, rude host (Heather specifically).

Our stay at the Alpine Inn Motel in Cooper Landing, Alaska, was a disaster. When we arrived, no one was there to help us, and the provided code for the electronic door lock didn't work due to a lack of power. After multiple attempts, we finally reached the owner and got a separate code to access a key from another lockbox.

The room was unprepared—50 degrees Fahrenheit, no hot water, and dirty red water from the pipes. There were no instructions for the stay. The representative, Heather, informed us the place hadn't been dewinterized, and the heat didn't work. We waited over three hours for portable heaters. Heather was rude and unprofessional, expecting us to coordinate with maintenance ourselves and hung up on us when we sought help.

Despite our patience, there was still no hot water or proper heating, forcing us to get a refund from Airbnb and find another place last minute. I do not recommend staying here.

Good location and good beds and friendly service, competitive rates. Only complaint was that the fridge was not working and had water leaking so I assume it recently failed and the freezer melted. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that the rest of the rooms had working fridges. I would recommend this place to anyone road tripping around copper landing and Seward.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T STAY HERE! We booked a room over the phone and once we arrived, they had overbooked the hotel and offered a personal camper at the same price of over $100. We looked in the camper and found that it didn't have a generator or water!!!!!! Seriously!! We obviously complained and said that we weren't going to stay because we couldn't use the fridge, toilet or shower, etc. The owner refused to refund our money even though she clearly misrepresented her accommodations!!!!!!!!!!

Side note-I will say, the couple helping run the front desk was very polite and nice. We luckily found a cabin down the road at the Drifter's Lodge and it was over the top beautiful and the hospitality and over the top.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Alpine Inn Motel and had an amazing experience. We did not have a rental car so Heather was very kind and offered us rides to the local hiking sites and restaurants. The room was very clean and had an amazing view of the local mountains. We also had caught fish in Homer and they allowed us to keep them frozen in their freezer. The location was also optimal - they were very close to the local town center. I would definitely stay here again.
