We recently were fortunate enough to find out about Skyline Village for my brother who was needing a nice place to live as he moved to Birmingham.
Three good meals a day were included so there was no need for grocery shopping or preparation which was ideal for him .
Unlike regular apartment living all utilities were included in the rent .
I cannot say enough good things about the director Pam Hallmark and the staff at Skyline Village.. and then Beverly Maples the Marketing Director appears to be the heart of the facility. Everyone loves her !
Marketing people are known for their outgoing personalities and their salesmanship ability to attract potential clients or residents and Beverly has that quality but what makes her unique is that she truly cares for the residents and always goes “ the extra mile” to see that they are are not forgotten about AFTER they move in and that is not the typical job for a marketing person!
I would highly recommend Skyline Village.

BEDBUGS!! Stay so incredibly far away from this place.

Full disclosure: I have no family members there but my husband was the maintenance director for almost 3 years.

The owner is the definition of a slum lord. The building has had bedbugs for years and they keep doing stop gap measures that don't treat them. The health department was just there last week.

The fire system is on its last leg. Employees aren't background checked and turn over is off the charts due to horrid management. The owner only cares about filling rooms and doesn't care about you once you sign a lease.

Skyline Village is a beautiful facility!! And has a wonderful-outgoing-caring staff!! The residents are so happy and you can tell how much they love living there.. The building is decorated so nicely and super clean.. I have visiting twice now and I feel like I have made long lasting friendships with the employees and specially the residents.. If your looking for a place for your love ones, I highly recommend Skyline Village to be one of your choices to check in to..

This place is incredible! We couldn’t ask for a better staff. Bev is marvelous & highly trained. The atmosphere is beyond compare. I am so grateful to have my Father in a lovely place like this where is completely thriving at this time in his life.

I have experienced nothing but joyous, structured, comradory here. I would even categorize, living at Skyline as excitingly smooth. I always feel safe, not belittled, and loved . I would, do recommend, making this a new, permanent choice of residence, for you or a loved one .

They have bedbugs and will not tell you. We found out after mother moved in. Tried working with them, but after mother was getting bit nightly and couldn’t sleep, we had to remove her and leave all belongings behind. We’ve spent thousands of dollars buying all new furniture, TV, clothes, etc for a new senior apartment. We counted at least 30 bites on mother the day we left, showered, changed in to new clothes and went to the new place.

It appeared mother wasn’t a priority because they said other apartments were worse than hers…those had crustaceans going up the walls, they said on numerous occasions. OMG! When health dept arrived, mother’s apartment had been emptied and treated, so…they didn’t see a problem. They didn’t want to see our pictures or baggy of bedbugs that we have triple bagged in the freezer.

The view from here is absolutely beautiful. My brother worked here and he only ever had amazing things to say about the staff and residents.
