Been boarding my 5 horses here for almost 2 months now. Patti has been extremely accommodating and kind opening her home to us. 1) They feed generous amounts of hay, not the typical sticklers to 1 or 2 flakes per feeding.
2)There is grass turn outs!! YES, GRASS turn outs!
3) You have your own tack room area attached to your horses 4) large oversized covered stall and pipe corral.
4) The arena is HUGE, and watered and dragged daily,
5) LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION- having boarded in Ojai everyone knows how hot it gets there during the summer, NOT here, it has its own special microclimate marine layer that keeps this area cooler. I could drive from this ranch to Ojai and watch the temperatures increase almost 20 degrees some days. Days where its in the mid 90s in Ojai its 68- 71 degrees here

So if you are looking for a place to board where your horses are fed enough hay according to their weight and need as opposed to the owners hay bill (I personally got sic of buying additional hay because other places would only feed 1 flake per feeding), You like riding in a large dust free, dragged sand arena with lights for evening riding, and if you like being able to turn your horse out on grass, have your own tack room area, and want to be part of a community of boarders that look out for one another, then this is the place for you.
If not and you want to complain that your horse is next to other horses, (LKE EVERY HORSE IS) then please go somewhere else, there are tons of ranches that have and thrive on drama and you will fit right in at.
But this is a lovely facility, owned by a kind and knowledgeable equestrian who genuinely cares about horses, she operates this business because she wants to, and loves horses, not because she is reliant on the income.
I have over 25 + years professional equestrian experience; teaching, training and managing A circuit facilities throughout the country from NY, FL, HI, CA and everywhere in between and I can say without hesitation this ranch is a lovely place to board, all the horses are fat, healthy and happy. The one down side is it is pretty full and has a waiting list to board.
But if you are lucky enough to get a chance to keep your horse here, you will know the value of this place which is why most of her boarders have been here over 15 years. That alone speaks volumes about this place. LOVE Rocking R Ranch

Wonderful place to board your horse! Everyone is very kind and low key. The owner Patti is very friendly and accommodating and does her best to make things work for everyone! The previous review is a bald faced lie. This person was angry over nothing and called herself a trainer and was very unprofessional and very rude to all other boarders. I was there the entire time this person was and witnessed the way things were handled and this person was the only one that did not handle things professionally. She wanted all the fancy things at a barn that is not a high end barn but people are happy here and caring and no drama. If you want a place like that then this is it. I only left because I moved out of state otherwise I would still be there. I absolutely and highly recommend this place if you want to feel at home and be drama free. If I come back to Ca I will definitely be boarding here again.

It’s very inexpensive to board there but it’s every aspect is handled unprofessionally. I had an ok time there with my horses at first, until the horse moved out between my two. I heard rumors that they wanted to move a neurotic horse that was new to the property, unhappy where it was and a weaver between my 4 and 6 year old FEI prospects. I immediately talked to the owner Patti saying I would rather remove my horses then be stuck next to a dangerous horse. Patti told me she would talk to the owner. So they waited until I wasn’t around and moved the horse without notifying me so I could Not come supervise and protect my horses. Brooke who works there said she would tell me if the horse was moved. She acted all friendly to me texting me to ride etc, but she sat there knowing I wanted to move my horses watching this insane horse next to mine without texting me.. When I arrived the Next day horses was pacing and weaving and my two horses were completely freaked out pacing frantically and one was lunging at the fence towards the strange horse. I had to move my horses For their safety and Patti refused to even acknowledge the mistake they made putting my horses at risk. I had paid full month and she wouldn’t refund me the $200 credit I had remaining. If you aren’t worried about uneven and deep footing, people being In cliques and rude to newcomers it’s a good place to save money. If you care about your horse not getting injured there and prefer to stay away from dishonest unprofessional people find another stable.
